My local Toyota dealership is a "best price dealer". They claim to sell new Tacoma's at 300 over invoice and do not dicker on any vehicle price (new or used) on the lot. I have had many positive dealings with them in the past.

They finally got the first 2016 on the lot and the window sticker (MSPR) is shown below, and the actual asking price is also shown. If my math is right it looks like they add 300ish over invoice on the truck but charge full MSPR for the options. Expensive but fair I think.

Now all they need to do is get in a Manual V6 DCSB OR without the tech package and they will have a sale.20150924_185254.jpg20150924_185259.jpg 20150924_185232.jpg

    Too few to list.
At least they are moving on the price. Dealers around are selling at or about $500 off MSRP only.

I can't even get a quote on that build in LA. Dealers are all "That's rare, how much over sticker do you want to pay, etc etc"

About a grand over invoice plus their Doc fee... OK deal

Nice to see some dealers are marking these trucks under MSRP. Good idea for the dealers because the buyers won't grind them when they see the "$2000 discount" which is actually less when adding the Doc Fee not reflected in "sale prices"

I'm gonna give it some time. I don't need a new truck yet so I can wait for saturation. I imagine once that occurs I will have a much easier time getting dealers to deathmatch eachother.

YEah Once trucks are in the lots generating interest payments, dealers will be more inclined to move them. I don't think 16s will be discounted heavily universally until the 17s come out. There will always be dealers who discount to their best customers or to get more allocations.

The good news is there are a number of dealers, 30+, within 90 miles of me so I can put in the spadework pretty easily to get the deal I find acceptable.

My method last time was email a bunch of internet departments, get all the addresses and BCC each with the deal I had received stripping out identifying info for the dealer. Did not get new but got a great used deal.

Good news. If a dealer in the middle of nowhere can do it, the metro areas won't be far behind. I rather get closer to invoice myself tho.

A local dealer wrote this to me yesterday "Is there a certain price point that you are looking for? If you are looking for a 2016 Tacoma, I can come down off of MSRP, but that will depend on what it will take to earn your business."

I like how he wants to use MSRP as our starting reference. I think I am gonna pass.

Working on that. This is how I am selling it to her. " I drive an AC SR5 and child seats fit in the back but not well. so we would have to use your car for everything. Also, I am going to buy the expensive one since I plan on keeping it till kid(s) are in their teens. Getting the fancy stuff keeps my eye from wandering" ..at least until the next refresh. She would not be happy about that since it is a really clean 5 year old Elantra with <20K on it. Additionally, I hate that car.

I hear ya. At some point you may be trading the Tacoma in for a minivan. You say no now, but your voice don't matter. haha

Agreed. In South Florida the best I have seen is $500 off MSRP and that is from a dealer that does not charge dealer fees. I sent out some $100 over invoice offers but I do not expect to get any counter offers until there are more trucks on the lots or end of the year.
