So I'm all set to get a 2011 Tacoma and have been shopping around using TRUECar and found a 4WD Access cab, manual with the SR5 package for about $26K. Just noticed that a 4WD Frontier SV King Cab, manual with the Premium Utility Package and bed extender and hitch is about $4500 less on TRUECar.

I really want the Tacoma but this Frontier deal is awfully hard to pass up, right?

OTD price is all that matters. The rest is a shell game.

4wd frontier King Cab for under $22K?!? Sounds like an easy kill to me. I love my truck but that sounds like a great deal. I guess make sure that options and all of those things are acceptable. But sounds like an awesome deal.

no. it's a frontier. the back windows don't roll all the way down, it's ugly and has a silly stance no matter what you do to it. . . with these trucks' historical reliability, why don't you go with a used one if your looking to save some cash?

x2... At 20% off I'd be hard pressed to go with an SR5 Tacoma over a loaded crew cab Frontier :anonymous:

When I was looking they were similarly priced so it was an easy decision. OP, if you're set on the Tacoma, take the quote for the Frontier to the Toyota dealership and see if they'll haggle.

I wonder why they are blowing them out for so cheap, if you really can get this kind of a deal?

There's a reason why they need an "incentive" to sell em...The Tacoma is a better truck than a Frontier hands down...don't sell yourself short for the sake of a few bucks. You'll be glad you went with the Tacoma. A friend of the family has a 2006 Dbl cab Nismo O/R and he wish's he had got the Taco...he hates his frontier ;)

Hey rab89 - since you sell Frontiers, am I correct on the price?

I went from having 3 toyota trucks in a row and ended up getting a 2011 SV King Cab 4x4 for $22,600.They had rebates of $4,000 when I got mine in March 2011. I went from the 2002 Tacoma 4x4 SR5 to the Nissan. At first I missed my toyota but the Nissan grew on me. I was suprised by the mileage I have been getting with it. The last 10 fills I have average over 20mpg. I was getting 18-23 with the Toyota. I have been really happy on the ride of the truck. Miss some of the features of the toyota. Have almost 8,000 miles and no problems. And going from the 2.7 to the 4.0 V6 is really nice.

    That's what she said.

I do believe its a shell game too...if you like the Tacoma, get that. If you drive and like the Frontier, get that one...couple grand saved for mods!!

Great idea. It never hurts to haggle. The worst they'll say is no.

One of the selling points for me between a Toyota and a Nissan when I started looking .... a lot of nature/travel shows what do you mostly see around the world? Toyotas....old ones... and they are still running. Of course they may have 50 cal machine guns mounted in the beds, but still!
