Here is a start Zero. Some start out vids for what you want to do yourself eventually. There are some different techniques to servicing a vehicle. but the basics are there. At this point in time to your trip, either read up and learn fast on how to do this, or take it to a shop for the greasing of zerks. Since this is the first time you have picked up a wrench or owned a truck?,,I would vote for the shop helping you out before your trip. Then, no need to rush to learn all there is and all the different technique's.

No need to coat the cartridge with grease, it will slide in the gun without it. Less mess.

Thanks again for all the replies!! I just got my drivetrain greased by a local shop and they only charged me 10 bucks! I'll take y'all advice and not do the "oil taste test" lol. Thanks for the videos too!

I know syn oil is more expensive but you can go 7500 between changes. I have 278.000 on my 2.7 and still doesn't use oil. Also not one engine issue since june 1995. You should be fine for your trip with your oil description. Never heard of taste test before. I hope your messing with us. Definitely grease drive shafts. Very easy to do. Make sure you get almost hidden fitting. Also all parts still original. Orignal timing chain, gear, etc.[IMG]
