I am watching Mecum auction and they advertised this, anyone buy it. Looking for a pick me up after washing the truck. Seems pricey..

I gave it a shot out of curiosity. For $25 I figured I may as well.

Applied it to my truck January 9th. Went on easy, took a little more effort to buff off than expected, but not too bad. Followed all instructions to the letter. It looked great; nice gloss and water beading. The truck stayed in the garage for a week after, so it was definitely able to cure (even if the bottle says no cure time).

Then I went into the field for work for a couple weeks, half of that during a cold snap of around -25°C. The truck accumulated a lot of salt and grit on the highway and I wasn't able to wash it off. Probably 1500km of harsh winter highway driving total. Finally on my days off I power washed the truck on February 16th: the coating was toast below the door handles and along leading edges. Basically anywhere the winter road grim hits. No beading or anything. Still glossy, so maybe a little protection survived. Above that, the coating was still beading just fine. So I got about 6 weeks out of the coating.

I re-applied it two weekends ago, since I figure I may as will kill off the bottle. Probably have two more applications left in it. Now that we're out of the major part of winter I'm curious if it'll last longer.

I thought I've seen good things about this one. The problem with all of these spray on wipe off product is there is little variance from one to another. So if you buy this stuff at Autozone or Autogeek, there isn't going to be a huge difference from one product to another. Graphene sounds neat and one day it will likely coat everything but right now it's hard to see any attribute that graphene is supposed to excel at making any difference in an auto detailing product. None of the graphene products are necessarily bad because they've loaded the product up otherwise with things that are known to work. Otherwise all the brands are likely cashing in on the hype, it is not a coincidence that some popular brands don't have a graphene product in their lineup.

Check out this video at about 20 minutes in on graphene in detailing:

6 weeks of durability is poor. Can get that from traditional wax. I found Griots 3-1 giving me so far almost 7 solid months.

Watch this. Give the Turtle a try. This stuff is amazing. I know you're asking about Graphene. But I think the jury may still be out on a few of those products for now.

I used to own a detailing business for over 10 years, if I didn't have some product left over from the sale, I probably would. I have seen it at Walmart for $2 a bottle in the clearance section.

What product exactly were you referring to for $2?

So this for $2 a bottle? If yes, that's the deal of the Century. This is the best product I've tried so far for price, durability and ease of application.

My second coat of 303 Graphene went on March 13th, and so far so good. But I've been work from home since, so the truck largely sits in the garage. Probably not a good comparison to my first try in the depths of winter. Since the first coating survived on parts of the truck that don't get blasted by winter grime, I'm figuring that the second coat will last overall longer now that we're into spring. Someone who doesn't deal with hardcore winter might get a lot more life out of the 303 Graphene than I would working in Northern Alberta.

I'd like to try the Griots 3-in-1. I'm a big fan of their Best of Show wax and never been disappointed in any of their products I've tried.

Try their Flex products with Graphene. It's an awesome synthetic wax.

Generally do not put wax over a coating. If you want to use a product get ceramic sealant/booster. Usually whatever coating you have, the company makes a product that will help boost the hydrophobic properties. For example, Carpro has Reload that can be used over their coatings or any ceramic coating.

Only thing you can use is ceramic coating is ceramic based products. Wax or anything with gloss enhancer polymers will smear. At least in my experience.

I've tried the 303 garphene and the TW graphene paste wax. The TW graphene gave amazing shine but short life. Going back to the TW hybrid ceramic. It's the best I've used and I never thought I would say that about TW.

    Sidebar Question.

Could a conventional car wax, say like Nu Finish, be used after a "ceramic" spray on wet/wipe off dry coating has disappeared?
