    There's not a lot of info or discussion on these tire sizes and strategies for achieving all the correct drivetrain geometry and choice of suspension(preferred) or combo suspension and body lift.

    I opted for 34' in a 305/70/17 because I like the bolder look and it's less extreme than 35's whch would likely require a regear. So far the 34's don't seem to suck any more power or performance than the previous 285/70/17 setup.... I'm quickly finding out that there are some caveats to going this size...hence the lack of interest... but again YOLO, so I went for it...

    Seems it would be easy enough for any experienced mechanic to figure this shit out, but I ended up with my mechanic installing my Fox 2.5 coilovers with an inverted top hat to get more lift, then finding out no one does this... and then seeming unable to say "here is what the f*ck you should do..." Im totally losing confidence so I'm doing all the research myself... so listen y'all do some research before blindly taking someone's word for the way shit should be done.

    Now I'm now trying to solve the problem of getting them installed correctly and acheive enough height .. Since I've already done a little CMC, I'm thinking either a 1-2" body lift or rough country 4" lift ...

    I am into doing it right rather than cheap because Mama always said "Good things ain't cheap and cheap things ain't good..." Would love to see your 34's and 35's and what parts you used...

    How much lift did you get with your setup? I too will am planning on going to 34-35. Still in research mode.

    In terms of fitment, from what I've read so far, suspension varies - some folks get 3+ inches of lift to make them fit while some only have 2 inches of lift (OME kit).

    Wheel specs are crucial as well, an example is the guy who has an OME kit - with minor trimming, he was able to fit 35/12.5/17. Wheels are SCS F5 4.3BS -10.

    just cut your fenders like everyone else on TW running 35s, your pretty much either gonna have to cut fenders or the dreaded DB lifts which I highly DO NOT recommended the DB lift.

    Dude more height will not help. You need a deep CMC, smash that pinch weld, and trim the fender liner with a basic 2.5 lift you will be fine.

    I just got done prepping for 315's. I am running Fox 2.5's as well with only a 2.5-3" lift. No body lift. What I have done so far;
    1)Big CMC chop
    2)smashed the hell out of the pinch weld to lay down flat
    3)cut plastic flares back 2"
    4)cut fenders back 2"
    5)remove all inner fenderwell plastics

    Also running an aftermarket front bumper which we'll help a lot. And IMO 34's you will most likely want to regear.

    Sweet ride - Hard core - Deeper cutting could be the way to go, it's already cut, little more won't hurt LOL...- already close to enough clearance......

    @mesojdm

    Thanks for posting... you weren't understating for sure... flares after the fender cut look good......I have similar cut, will weld a plate over it and spray... I don't think I need to cut my fenders, definately more plastic

    ^ Yeah, all my plastics are gone. I am going to spray the entire wheel well with undercoat. I'll TRY and re-use them but I doubt it.
    You CMC looks like it is at an angle(tapering down?)

    Yup..was looking at that when I pulled the plastics off. It's a big bowl.. looks like a water and mud trap for sure. Not quite sure what I am going to do. Maybe a snorkel..? Lol

    Here is a side shot showing how much fender was removed. The furthest part sticking out is the cab(where the rubber grommet is) and I can't really do anything about that.. or can I...

    Yup, it's cut on an angle - The only rubbing I'm getting now is on plastic with a hard turn all the way right, and suspension dip at the same time, so a little more chopping should correct. - did some more trimming today and had a long chat with my mechanic...just going to keep cutting away, test, cut test ...

    The good news is all my drivetrain geometry is near or at factory and I have 34's with a 3" lift.

    Contrary to popular opinion here, I'm going to stay with the inverted top hat on the shock as I don't see any harm being done from it as it's giving me the height I need without cutting cross members, spending another 1-2k on lifts and shipping to HI and not getting blocks or spacers or other crap the will eff up my ride. I do not believe it is negatively affecting any parts of the suspension as someone suggested, all tolerances are correct...The ride is real solid and smooth...went on a back road today with plenty ruts, rocks and a normally rough ride, taco handled it solid. Overall very happy with the Fox coilovers and 34's with some cmc, but avoiding the majors costs of a full on 6" lift.

    BTW the 34's are Ridge Grapplers, and the they appear to give a great ride with low noise...

    Finally Finished cmc and mods - welded and sprayed mental plate over cut frame and pounded pinch weld flat. Managed to get clearance with no rubbing without noticeable change in stock look.

    The ride is fantastic all things considered, very close to factory, did take a hit on mileage but- far, far better than my 2013 with Fabtech lift and Dirt logics.

    Also installed a Pedal Commander - best $275 bucks for a mod I ever spent, forget a $800 tune - not my kind of partyIMG_0429.jpg

    I'm on 275/70/17s. The tires look way small and I wouldn't mind another inch of clearance. I can't afford to regear yet and I don't know that I ever wanna chop the fenders (any more). Has anyone cleared 34s without a fender chop? And still been able to flex without rubbing?
