About to pull the trigger on a lift and wheels/tires, been stock a month I can't take it anymore lol. Having a hard time deciding on tire size. I really want to run 305/70/16. Can get some mickey Thompson mtz's for around $850 shipped. I've done plenty searching and can't find a lot of people running this size on a third gen(if any). I was hoping to see this size more on our trucks before pulling the trigger. What are your guys' opinions?

Edit: I know I need a cmc and do trimming that's not something that needs saying. Ran 33x12.50's on my first gen I'm no stranger to trimming and using a bfh

I'd say go 305 and pave the way, as long as you're ready for the amount of chopping needed. Maybe even some tubbing. You've also got to consider gearing. If you're up for the challenge (aka have enough money) then go for it! I think it'd be bad ass.

EDIT: Just punched that into the tire size calculator. Didn't realize it's the same height as 285/75r16, just 0.8" wider. Still cool, but I read it as 305/75r16.

are you going for function or aesthetics? Most don't need a wide mud tire

I wouldn't buy tires just for aesthetics reasons. I'd be lying if I didn't think a 12" wide tire looks badass (who doesnt), but I use my truck as a truck. I live in the sticks, my truck's on dirt/mud/snow more often than cement.
