So I have a buddy helping me that is a mechanic for the oil change. Could anyone help me with the torque levels for the stock offroad skid plate, U bolts and frame bolts? I do need to upgrade to the TRD skid, but that will be for later. Just trying to learn over here.....thanks!

Look in your manual, it’ll have the specs.

As far as the skid plate, just tighten them up. For things that aren’t very crucial a good nudge will do it but for the more sensitive ones like frame bolts and u-bolts use your manual, or ya know, the internet search tool.

Tighten them up, good for you doing it yourself I seem to be missing one of the 4 bolts every time I bring it in. I usually do my own unless its cold . this winter was brutal 59 days below 32

Holy shit thanks man, usually it takes a few helpful replies before one of you pops up. My manual has been misplaced, I am hoping for someone with the info on the top of their head to reply

Thanks man. This will be my first service out of warranty and the cost from the dealer was laughable

The more details the better my man. You can’t blame someone who doesn’t know your circumstances. Before I knew of this forum or joined it I would google it and would always find an answer, not scolding you but just saying it takes a quick second of work which yields my desired results! Have fun doing your maintenance though, always a good feeling to do your work and be assured it’s done right.

Thanks... I guess I trust this site more than normal. I have just seen guys trust the internet unrelated to trucks and it literally blows up in their face. That is an unrelated hobby though

I found your manual. https://www.toyota.com/owners/resou...se&csrfToken=15545112435731208493917103137081 and remember... when you post in public expect pretty much any answer. No safe spaces here unless it is COC or BST lol.

I wouldn't torque skid plate bolts, just need to be tight, I would definitely grease them though, they very commonly break due to rust over time.

Totally off topic, but I always thought ND was way colder than that.
