You know it’s like $40 to do it yourself? Costco has oil on sale right now for $28 for 6 qts, and the OEM filter will run about $10. I got quoted by my dealer at $86 for the oil change itself. They’re just trying to upsell useless nonsense to you. Just tell them you want a oil change, nothing else.

Mine was low. Toyota charged me $27.50 plus shop fee to top off.

Oil change and tire rotation is $89 out the door, I pay it because to me it’s worth it. They top off washer fluid, check the tire pressure, once over on the brakes and suspension... at 30k there’s no reason they should be touching the Trans, Transfer case or diffs.

I did something similar, but to a lesser degree at my 5k service. I’d ordered a TRD Pro skid plate, using a parts and service coupon I got in the mail. I selected “pick up at dealer” for the free shipping, and made sure it would be ready for pickup when I went in for the 5k service. I asked if they would swap in the new skid plate when they did the oil change (that I paid $60 for), and just put the OEM skids in the bed. The service rep didn’t seem to realize the OEM skid needed to be removed to access the filter, but once he got that straightened out they did the swap and didn’t charge labor.
