I don't get this whole tire looks thing. Not directed at you, just a statement.

dunno some people like how certain tires look. kind of like why people buy different rims and lights and stuff.

I can see wheels, lights, and stuff. Tires just gotta work. Form follows function and all that. The bits making contact could look like hairy balls if that is what is need to do the best job.

Maybe it is just me? In the end, I'm not a big fan with the way my motorcycles tires look (Post 20), but mutha of gawd, they sure do work.

The stock tire size was just fine for any trails that I have been on, or will ever go on. Anyone that thinks 1" of additional clearance is going to make a world of difference is just kidding themselves. I went with 33s because I was already planning on a suspension upgrade (2" lift and aftermarket UCAs) and that's already 80% of the effort needed to fit 33's. The rest is the trimming, CMC, and aftermarket wheels (or spacers). Also, I think a lifted truck with small wheels looks a little funny. Kind of like a Corgi--big body, small legs.

If a tire that looked like a hairy ball out performed lets say a toyo m/t... ide still choose the toyo.

    that's just me

Only half inch really. But, it is a free half inch. The :spending: to do more is just not worth it, esp if I never found the limit of the stockers, which I sort of have. So, the first play is seeing what these ATs do.

    That's me anyway.

Correct me if I am wrong. 33 - 31 = 2" difference in diameter. So 1" difference in radius, all other factors equal. Your point about the additional $$$ makes total sense. Probably not worth it from a financial perspective.

This would be a good compromise if only it existed.

Good. Looks good, and performs great.

As far as Instagram and Tacoma accounts go, It’s always the same tired bullshit-

A truck and a girl and something trying to be funny. All 3 are required, because the trend hoppers who jumped onto tacomas are basic bros.

    Ah! I was assuming 30.5 (265/65R17) to 31.6 (265/70R17).

It is very interesting how little room is there to toss on a 33. It is a big buy and really needs to be all done at about the same time.

I think the 265/70/17 (or 265/75/16) is a decent compromise between looks/performance and economy...

...At least for the next 10,000 miles... then I'm out of the powertrain warranty and I can go up to 4.88 gears and 33" wheels, CMC chop, etc.

I absolutely love my C Load 265/75/16 Duratracs! They come with the 3 peak snow designation which was absolutely required. I sold off my dedicated winter tires. No more changing out tires twice a year!

The Duratracs also have great sidewall/rim protection on them that is second to none. I would have loved 255 pizza cutters, but they don't come with my requirements!

Those look awesome, that’s the only other tire I would go with besides the falkens. Falkens are dirt cheap compared to the duratracs but man the duratracs are nice.
