I wrote that post and yes it's the right way to wire it. Cdplaya and I were messaging back and forth about his issue and he said he thought his LED Bar was defective as his fuse was blowing even when he tried to go straight to the battery (bypassing the relay and switch etc). Sounded like he had a short inside the bar itself. He was reaching back out to the manufacturer to get a new one and I didn't hear what happened after that.

Just to fill you guys in, the LED was replaced right away and I don't think he has had a problem since.

Welcome back Chris. Glad to see you offering your brackets again. They are the best out there. You need to work on brackets for roof mount.

I've been wanting this for quite a while now. I'm very close to pulling the trigger now that there is an awesome group buy.

But before that, i got a few questions.

Does everybody use this just for offroad purposes?
    any 4x2 owners installing these?
Does the LED have an amber or yellow light output option?

I have a 4x2 TRD Sport. Aside from just the looks, I really want to install one because in my 115 mile commute, sometimes about a 30 mile stretch can be very foggy and up in the mountains upto about 4000ft elevation. When it rains really hard, its also hard to see even if I already have HIDs on my headlights and fogs. Would it be okay to use the light bar on these situations? Since there is usually no car ahead of me and I do not have on-coming traffic since a 2-lane road going one way. I live in CA by the way and I know I am not allowed to use the lights on-road. But I dont intend to keep it on, just when I really really need it. Just wondering if others are doing it for the same reason.

I installed mine a couple of weeks. All I can say, it's real high quality setup and the mount can't be any better. I use mine only for off-road purposes. They're not legal in city driving. I got the CaliRaised 3D combo light which works out perfect. You can vouch for the 4D for spotlight only. It's all white light but Ive seen some LED bars with amber color option. Not sure if they are part of this group buy.
I highly recommend the APEX bars. Custom made high quality mounts and no drilling required

Thank you kindly! Bolt on roof mounts are on my list, be it kind of far down it haha. I will let you know when I get some going!

@fshams thanks for the great feedback!!!

    @2016TacomaTRD

First warning is they are for off-road use only, according to law. Now if you are using one for inclement weather that is your choice and I don't know many cops that would mess with you as long as your not messing with other people. There are customers who have purchased these for night driving on back roads where there are a lot of animals that jump in the road. For what you are doing the 4D does sound like a better option because it's a bright spot and will help see further (unless fog, it may reflect off the fog and make things a little harder to see). I have one of these on my wifes 4Runner for your exact reason. We don't offroad it, the occasional dirt road. But we do drive between NM and CA a lot and it's great to have in case of bad weather!

If you have any additional questions please let me know!

I do not make roof mounts of any style at this time, sorry.

And yes it's a generic harness and push button. Most are happy with the harness but upgrade the switch. Or for only a couple more dollars you can buy the MicTuning harness that comes with a nicer rocker switch. Amazon seems to be the best place for those.

That one will do the job. Be aware that one has two leads and you only require one. Wrap up and secure the other one in case you want to add more lights later!

Thanks for the input. I am gonna pull the trigger and order one right now. I'm just gonna do the 4D and see how it goes. The mounts are custom made, no cutting or drilling. But in the video from caliraiseled, they still needed to cut a portion of plastic to fit the LED bars. Does the APEX mount eliminate this?...

Same thing, you will have to trim the air dam that is behind the grill. I am not sure how Cali Raised has you trim them but my instructions show you how and you don't lose any mounting points. You can also replace these with new ones if you ever wanted to go backwards.

Thanks for the idea. I just don't have a history of holding on to my vehicles for so long that I worry about making irreversible changes. I hope it is not that hard to install since I've never installed anything like this too. But anyway, thanks for opening up this group buy, already paid. Order #00160

Got my 3D light bar over the weekend, heavy and nice build quality from what I can tell initially. Looking forward to install when the brackets arrive shortly. Thanks Chris for doing this!
