They bolt to the original bumper mounts. But I'm also waiting for some pics once he's got the prototype in hand.

So I am supposed to get my test parts today! I will get them welded up in the next couple days and post pictures of course.

For the install, they are bolted to the nuts that hold on the aluminum crash bar which is behind your bumper skin. In order to install these you will be required to remove you grill, which is easily done. They are only held on with two bolts, and two plastic pins. Once you remove the grill you will have access to the bumper nuts. The only question mark I have is the air dam that Toyota added to the 3rd gens. They don't have air dams on 2nd gens, and 4runners have rubber ones that move out of the way. The 3rd gen has a hard plastic one. It is easy to remove if wanted. I am trying to figure out a way to incorporate the air dam and the LED at the same time. It may boil down to a little plastic trimming, but I really want to avoid that.

I know people want pics, I will provide as soon as I get some! The R&D process takes time to get done right. I have to work with carious suppliers and work around the schedules of the individuals helping me with testing mounts as I don't personally own a 3rd gen at this time... I do however make sure to spend as much time as I can getting it right so that you guys get the best possible parts. Once I get parts in hand I will be able to make sure everything is perfect and share pictures of the outcome. I really appreciate your patients!!!

Stealth test mounts all welded up! These things look awesome and are tough as hell. I am scheduled to meet up tomorrow afternoon with my local tester to get these on his truck and see what tweaks they may need and to get some pictures for you guys. After I get these tested, the Flush ones will be next! I will share tomorrow once I get these on.

Here are some bench top pics for you guys!

Also, I need someone to test a set of Flush mounts. If you are interested shoot me a PM. It will simply go to the first person who can meet my needs for testing.

Here is what I need, someone who will do the Flush mount install, and is ready to cut out their lower grill as the mounts require. You also will need to run the single row LED bar as my mounts are designed for (Flush only fits single row, Stealth can fit dual). I will need detailed pictures of the installed mounts and some nice poser shots for marketing. If you don't have the right LED bar, you will need to get one, I can of course sell you one for the mounts.

What you get. I will give you a free set of finalized mounts. If the first set is perfect, you can simply keep them. If I need to make changes, you will get updated sets until they are made right. They will come unpainted, if they are a perfect fit you can send them back to me and I will powder coat for you and return if desired. You also get my many thanks and admiration, haha!!!

Any other details beyond this we can discuss via PM. Hit me up if you are interested! Thank you everyone!!!

I'm trying to figure out how much of the light is blocked by the grille in front of it, any ideas? Seems to me that it being recessed like that would also affect the beam pattern?

I have had very good success with the stealth mounts of 4th gen 4Runner and 2nd gen Tacomas. A little light is blocked, but overall it still provides you a big boost over stock and works well. Typically the spot beam works with almost no interference, but you do lose a little bit of flood lighting. Once I get one mounted I will post pictures so everyone can get an idea!

Ok folks, here is my update for today. There is good news and bad news...

Bad news first... The test mount was a little too tall so I wasn't able to get a picture of it installed on the truck like I had hoped. There is a cross bar in that area and I couldn't mount the LED on the mounts as they were about 1/2" too tall and the LED hit the cross bar. So I will be about 10 more days before I have pictures to share...

The good news!!! Other than the height, the brackets fit very nice! I got some pictures of them installed without the LED and figured out all the details of the install and when will be required. You will have to trim the plastic wind dams on each side, but it is not much, easy to do, and will still work very well. These are actually very easy to install because of the way Toyota designed the main grill. It comes off in 5 min, and then you get a ton of access to the install area!

The other good news is I finalized my designs and sent them into the laser cutter to get my first batch cut. So hopefully in 10 days I will have parts to make 20 Stealth sets and 10 Flush sets. After I do my testing, I will get them powder coated and they will be ready to sell!!! I am thinking we could be there in about 2 weeks. I will start taking orders once I get both sets tested just to make sure there are no unforeseen delays in the process. Keeping promises and customer service are very important to me, so I want to get all the R&D finished before making any guarantees. But we are moving forward and looking good!

Please let me know if you guys have any questions!!!

Here are a few pictures for you to see the details. This first one is the area that needs to be cut. It allows you to use all the existing mounts that are on the wind dam, the bottom part that gets cut off is just floating there anyways.

    7D026E2E-35F0-4E9B-A610-F95F290377FC_zps_14b35a8906ea0cf9fee95d2ee0a003de3f011cdd.jpg

This is another view of the area and where the cut will be.

And here is a picture of the too tall mount in place. You can see how they will fit and sit for the most part. Now just imagine a big LED in there!

Also, if you haven't looked yet. These are the LEDs I am a dealer for and designed these mounts around. Great company and great LEDs, I love mine! If you buy the mount and LED from me, I give a $35 (approx 22%) discount off the retail price!

Stealth mounts - They can fit the dual rows
    3D Spot/Flood Combo - http://www.caliraisedled.com/product/31-5-dual-row-3d-optic-bar
    4D Optic Spot - http://www.caliraisedled.com/product/31-5-dual-row-4d-optic-bar

Flush mounts - I only recommend the single rows for these as the grill opening is too small for a dual row.
    Single Row Spot Beam- http://www.caliraisedled.com/product/31-5-super-slim-single-row-bar

Just to make sure I'm looking at the pictures correctly, the second shot, the grille is on the left and on the 3rd shot, the grille is to the right?

You are correct. Sorry for the inconsistency. My customer I am testing with lives two hours away. He is gracious enough to make the drive normally, but this weekend he didn't have the time so we tested in the middle at an Autozone... It was a little funny doing tests in a parking lot. But I hope that goes to show how easy this is to do, that we can do testing in a parking lot haha.
