I'd be curious to see output/beam comparisons between the two 3d and 4d lights. *cough cough*

Check out this post from my 2nd Gen thread. You can see just how freaking bright the 4D bars are. This customer states he gets a good amount of flood from it as well.

Thanks. I didn't know they had 4d style bars out. I've only seen them on round pillar lights for jeeps

So if you go to page 1 of the thread I linked just above, I posted some 3D pics, then page 2 has the 4D. Not side by side, but you can get a good idea.

MojaveMadman used my truck for the test fit. Here is my assessment of the mounts.

The mounts are a really simple and elegant design that are both very rigid and easy to install. Great quality laser cuts and welds. The lightbar install with these mounts is very simple. The grill and air dams pop off in about 5-10 minutes, another 20 minutes or so loosening 6 nuts, installing the mounts and lightbar.

I am not concerned at all about cutting off the bottom portion of the air dams to allow install of these mounts.

What exactly is the difference between 3D and 4D LED lights?

3D is a spot/flood combo with a standard style reflector. It is a great all around LED that gives great flood lighting and a decent spot beam that goes out pretty far.

4D is a spot only and has an optical lense like you see on a lot of new cars. It is a very bright spot beam that will go further than a standard spot. I have had a few customers say the 4D is so bright that it provides decent flood lighting as well.

3D is great for slower driving, trails, fire roads, poor weather, stuff like that. The 4D is great for faster driving like in the desert or other high speed situations where you benefit from a more powerful spot that can see further. They are both great lights and my customers all seem to love either one.

Flush removes the lower grill, Stealth sits behind it.

Thanks for the explanation, I used to work in commercial lighting with LED lighting but had never heard these terms. I wasn't in sales though, I just did installations and fabrication for test rigs.

I take it these are intended for off-road use, and illegal in city/highway driving? Can the flood/spot combo be used in inclement foggy weather on the highway/city? As far as the available wiring harness, Can I use it with a custom or OEM switch that fits in one of the empty slots in my 2016 Tacoma..

The 3D and 4D terms are just marketing terms to help the LED company identify the different kinds of bars they have. They aren't standard across the various LED industries from my understanding. Please let me know if you have any other questions!

These are off-road only lights. I would not recommend using them for normal road/highway driving. As far as the laws for what kind of weather you can use them in, you will need to look into your local laws as I am not a lawyer and I know the laws very from state to state. Personally, I leave mine off on the road unless the weather is bad, and I am not blinding anyone while using them.

The wiring harness will allow you to use a different switch. There is a good write up on my 2nd Gen thread which I posted above. Basically it can be done with some basic wiring tools. You will need to add in additional wires if you get an illuminated switch as the one that is included does not have that feature.

Thanks and I agree with this statement. One additional note so everyone is clear. The single row LEDs from Cali Raised are a spot only beam. So if you want a combo single row you will need to look at other options. I looked over the Rigid diagrams and some others and you should be good with other brands of LEDs if you decide to go that route. Shoot me a PM if you have anything yo uwant me to look at.

I will post some pictures of the light output of the single row this week so you guys can see what it looks like, I have one on my 2nd Gen. I think this will help people in deciding!

Yes they will. They carry some of my other stuff already. They have a couple fabricators that they carry so not everything is mine on their site. But I do all the lower grill mounts for them.

I was looking at the cali raised web site are the 2016 Tacoma lower grill mount the same as the mounts that you will be offering? Why the price dif? cali raised sells for $49:99 and I understand that yours will sell for $100.00? or am I missing something, is there a difference between the products?

They can't offer the illuminated switch because the wiring harness is generic and they offer it to owners of many different vehicles. Depending on the make of the vehicle, the wiring is different, so they can't include that. If you look on my 2nd Gen thread I posted earlier, there is a great write up on how to do it, and it can be done for around $20.
