    Damn 18 and 25 sound amazing! I get 15

but @Airborne is right. Who buys a truck and then cares about mpg. Maybe its like buying a truck, and then getting blinded by the small chrome trim pieces inside

Just some 35% tint to match the rears and some 285/70/17 Falkens…
Well, I beg to differ…because plenty are commenting on it and we all pay for gas.

And my TRD OffRoad Premium doesn’t have an imaginary chrome dashboard that you speak of.

    Good day…

I could be with a tailwind behind me pushing down hill …….lol. Whatever , but tires, 4 wheel drive , then as soon as i put in 4 wheel drive , whats gas milage , didnt buy a 4 runner worried about fuel milage, bought for needs in snow , pieace of mind for traveling safe , if its an 18 gallon fuel tank, and 2 miles pergallon are an issue thats 32 miles , Depending what part of the country you are is an average maybe of $ 5.00 on a tank of fuel ??? Not enough for me to worry about , toyota does offer a prius that gets great fuel economy, so ill speak on my own behalf ….if i want a truck, adding tires that look good on the truck , honestly wont make me think twice being concerned about miles per gallon

Point of the post: I have 33s and still get decent gas mileage. Actually better than what they said it gets with stock tires. Don’t overthink it.

I dont understand why so many want to shit in everyones cereal when they talk about MPGs.

Yes we get it, you bought a truck knowing it gets piss poor fuel economy and you don't care (or at least pretend to not care), but theres nothing wrong with someone wanting/needing a truck and still being conscious of fuel economy.

I got my Tacoma about 3 weeks ago and now have about 600 miles on it. The computer is displaying an average of 18.5 MPG. I live in San Diego and do short drives during the week in lite traffic and the weekends I have been driving to LA (a bit over 120 miles one way). This weekend I may do the same trek. I was thinking about measuring the MPG with the stock truck and tires as I plan to upgrade the tires to KO3s 285s and later on add a Harker camper (currently under production). But the hesitation comes when I ask the question "do I really want to know how much the MPG will drop?" LOL... do I really want that number bouncing around in my head or should I Just take the MPG after it is all said and done and just live in the moment. The number being shared here are interesting.

I totally understand your thinking...if it's any help to ya, I put 285/70/17s on, and quite honestly, if I lost any MPGs whatsoever, I def gained it back when I added a K&N air filter. And actually I don't think they even affected it whatsoever in the first place....the main thing people tend to forget is to not drive it like a lunatic. If you do that, you can forget about it, because your MPGs will drop drastically. I keep mine 62-65 MPH, and get 23-25-plus MPG every single trip.

You go 65 when the speed limit is 75?

I live in Ohio. Speed limits on interstates are mostly 65, and 70 in rural areas. I am on state routes and county roads 95% of the time, though...and those are 45 mph to 60 mph. I also stay in the slow lane on interstates because that lane is for passing. It's also where most lunatics drive 90 mph. Me being a non-lunatic, I try to avoid those people because statistically you'll live longer that way. Hopefully that sums it up...

They drive like lunatics everywhere. 25 years in LE, and been across the country numerous times, so I am very familiar with it all. I just stay in my lane and avoid idiots as best as possible...

    Probably this:
    "easy on the gas…62-65 MPH"
Also, the computer calculated mileage has to be taken with a grain of salt.
That said, last set of road trips I did averaged 23.5 mpg calculated from fuel fillups (on stock tires, with smartcap shell installed). Mostly 55-65 mph, and I let the cruise control do most of the acceleration.

My 2024 OR tank average is currently running 17.9mpg, but that’s only 1000 miles of tracking. 90% city driving. Running NORMAL mode.

My 3rd gen 2021 was 18.0mpg after 33,241 miles of tracking. About 80% of city driving. Ran ECT mode a lot in the first year. It was unnecessary after that.

I track on fuelly.com. I’ll plug in my numbers for at least three years on the 2024 OR.
