Obvious question: why not go with 11.5s then?

I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.
love my 33x(approx) 11.5's. Sitting next to the 33x12.5s on my jeep, you can't tell a difference.

I really like the look of the 10.5's. I've got that size on my 1977 FJ40.

    On the Tacoma the 255/85/16.

285/85/15 is pretty close if such a size exists.

I love the look of 12.5's but when I jump up to 33's I'm doing 10.5 because they'll tuck in a little better and bite harder on dirt due to the narrower tread width instead of drift. I live on a gravel road and my 32x 11.5 bfg's will throw up a rock or 2 every time I drive down it

If you run a wider rim it will make the tire look wider.
    Just a thought.
