33" Duratracs - Any Input?

With stock width wheels and stock backspacing the 255s should fit with no or fewer modifications than the wheels required to run 285s. 255s have a slightly larger diameter but mounting them doesn't require pushing the tires out to clear knuckles and UCAs resulting in a smaller scrub radius and less rubbing. Tacos just aren't designed for wide tires and that sucks. And I would maintain that 255s will wheel better than 285s in almost all conditions. But what about "stance"? Screw that teenage stance poser crap. A functional machine is a beautiful machine. The only problem with 255s is how few options there still are on the market. Thats why Im not running them. Yet.

 

I like the wide stance personally. My Method NVs are 4.5" back space and look great. If I could do a 265 in 33" I'd go for it as I like the width compared to the 245's that came stock on the truck.

I can definitely see the benefits of the 255/85/16 over the 285/75/16 on nearly all circumstances except deep snow powder or sand.
