Oh yeah I should add that my 305s are on a 6 speed. Idk if I'd like them on an automatic truck, especially up here in Colorado where the hills are long and steep. I feel like the trans would be hunting gears a lot.

I love my 255s. No trimming, chopping, or regear. I get around 17 mpg in the Montana mountains with a rig that weighs nearly 6000 pounds because man trans.

As someone who runs 35s... based on your description I do NOT recommend it.

35s are HEAVY, they're BIG, theyre more EXPENSIVE. They're definitely going to impact your ability to tow, they're going to wreak havoc on your gas mileage, and they're going to rub unless you really put some work into it, and spend even more money on wheels.

I have now owned 4 toyotas.. An FJ cruiser, 4 runner, 2 tacomas... and have run either 33s and 35s on both, and unless this is going to be a serious offroader, I'd stick with the 33s and I promise you'll be happier.

    33s (255/85r16) with 4.56 gears and 6speed MT...slightly overgeared but I like it.

Jake, These are the exact tires I have been planning to go with next. First time seeing them on a rig. Have more pics? currently I have 295/70R17s that are my current dailies, and 255/80R17s MTs that I run on my FJ only when I wheel and I am looking for a hybrid of the two for the Taco and these are them exactly I think. I have GY MTRs in 305s on my other FJ and they have held up pretty well.

And hey everyone, this thread is a couple years old.. I think OP worked it out by now.. =)

I didn’t think I could be happier moving from Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac’s which were heavy but great for wheeling and daily driving in any weather. I have just as much confidence so far with these Kevlar MTRs and they don’t seem to be too heavy for a V6 Taco (still hates towing)

285’s here. I don’t plan on going up in size any time in the near future.

295/70/17's with stock gears here, been this way since 2014, still want 4.88's but it works. I wanted 35's but these scratched the itch. Mostly because I didn't want to cut my fenders.I just wish there was a 35.5/10.5/17. That would be perfect.
