I just put Falken Wildpeak 285/70r17 ‘s on my 2014 with 2” puck lift up front and 1” block lift in the back. Only rubbing I got was while backing up and turning. Tiny little trim to the rear plastic and it’s good to go. Note I do have 4Runner wheels with a different offset than stock. 43715A26-31F1-4C4F-BF11-909F449FFF09.jpg

I did a 3/2in lift on my '05 with -10mm offset and 285/75R/16 Ridge Grapplers. There was slight rubbing that required plastic to be trimmed. However, I turn too soon coming in the driveway and hit the curb and there was some rubbing. I have not gotten it off-road yet. But my assumption is that I will end getting a body mount chop done.

Better fuel economy, maybe 2mpg city. My current setup is at least 12lbs lighter per corner, not to mention the decreased rolling resistance. Going through puddles doesn't make my butthole pucker anymore because I cut through rather than feel like I lose steering and momentum like I used to.

EDIT: And yeah, no more rubbing

I'll get some after work today. Plenty of room inside the wheel well with the skinny pizza cutter tires. There's also a thread HERE on the pros and cons of running skinny tires. I find that for me personally, doing the vsat majority of my driving city/highway and liking that I can also tackle forest service trails and the odd messy dirt road, they are the best option.

33s won't rub if you have the proper offset and backspacing on the wheels. Get the trd wheels with a positive offset of 4. Or an aftermarket wheel with around 0 offset. Stock tacoma wheels have too much positive offset which causes them to rub on the upper control arm

I'm behind the times but I'm really considering 255/85/16 pizza cutters.
Currently I'm running 285/75/16 with no rubbing. Just wish there were more options for 255/85/16.

Yessir, sorry it took so long.

Wheels are SR5 4Runner wheels I got for $50 and poorly spray painted black. Tires are Falken Wildpeak AT3s in 255/80r17. Lift is Bilstein 5100s front and rear, with OME 885 coils and an AAL in the rear. At some point I may adjust the coilovers up 1 notch to lift the front just a hair. PassSideProf01.jpg

I believe these 4Runner wheels have a +15mm offset in a 7in wheel, and these tires come to 10.5 or so inches wide. The sidewalls sit almost perfectly flush with the fenderwells.

The Falken AT's have performed great, and I've really come to love the look as well.

Drivers side suspension. With the ARB bumper, and the narrow wheel/tire, there's plenty of room in here and no rubbing I've experienced so far.

You have those pics of how much to trim I had the 285/70r17 on my 2020 with no rubbing but also my alignment guy maxed out the caster pushing the wheel forward an my new 2023 the dealer set it all factory specs an I heard a little rubbing on the plastic I just want it to look clean know what I mean I’d hate to take a hammer to a new truck I might just end up paying for another alignment if that’s the only option
