Unfortunately for the 34s, the front mudflaps got to go.

I have the 34x10.5x17 BFG ATs on my 2018 and after 30k have never rubbed anywhere. Suspension is Ironman FCP. I think I have about 1-2cm of clearance from the body mount and the front has plenty of clearance. This is on the 4runner TRD Pro wheels.

Didn’t know bfg made that size, I thought all they had close was a 255/85/16 MT.

I just haven’t put enough thought into it and haven’t seen any rims that i really like. Even the stock ORs painted don’t look that great to me.

I’d prefer to stay on 16” vs 17”……15” would open up a lot of cheaper options.

I liked the idea of methods bead grip

You can run Rokblokz XL flaps, which wrap around "under" the cab mount. It allows me to run 35x10.5-17 tires with flaps.

You must never flex your suspension. BFGs do run a bit on the smaller side, but without trimming up front and doing a CMC I really don't see how this is possible. With 0 offset wheels, I barely cleared the cab mount at full crank at ride height. Any flex made it rub the cab mount. Your wheels are only +4 offset. Barely a difference. This was with a high caster alignment as well.

Good to know because 35s are the next step!

Right on. Just FYI, there is barely a difference between 16 and 17. Plus with 34 or 35s you are greatly increasing the amount of sidewall. So what sidewall you lose on going to 17 you instantly gain back and then some.

I went with 17 just because there were lots more options for wheels and tires.

Good luck with the set of wheels/tires!

Yup that is true and probably why I’ll get 17” at some point.

Suspension gets flexed for sure. I thought I had actually hit the mounts a few times but I had a bad sway bar bushing one time and another it was the skid being overtightened. I have zero rub marks that I have seen in those kms. I have taken the truck quite a long way and it always impresses. The BFG's measure around 33.5 new and a little narrower than 10.5 when mounted.
