When you post your MPG, can you add the terrain you normally drive on? Flat, hilly, mountainous, etc. It helps when trying to compare the MPG's.

    Oh look, another mod....
Stock tires that came with the truck. I did swap out the rims, but kept the OEM tires. No lift, except for the factory lift.

Also: No tune on my truck or serious weight has been added. I'm almost always on flat land, no hills or serious inclines. Also, no high elevations or headwind or tailwind. I drive like a grandpa. I don't accelerate fast or brake hard. It's a V6, TRD Off Road, 4wheel drive, 6spd AUTO.

Me too. 2” lift doesn’t matter much how I drive 14.2-14.6 is typical. Mostly short 6 mile commute cold engine with stop lights. I can get much better drafting behind a truck on the highway though lol.

I try to fill up when I get down to a quarter of a tank. Fuel in the tank helps keep the fuel pump cool.

I stop and fill at a gas station every 25 miles. They're lonely and need conversation. Shame on you selfish people trying to maximize time between visits. They worry about you. Bring a casserole next time to show them you've been eating.

I drive in city only. My SR 2WD 2.7 L only gives me 20 to 21 mpg. What is your city only mpg?

What is your definition of “more conservatively”? Do you drive like grandpa?

Pretty sure that's what he meant. Grandpa is right.

After adding about 300lbs of skids and sliders and going up one size in tire to 265/75/16, my city only mileage has dropped from about 16.8 city to about 15.4 city. But I have not changed the mileage calibration for the larger diameter tire, so that is realistically a few tenths higher. And I am a fairly aggressive driver. I can bring it to 16 ish if I drive sedately.

Still feel good about it as I have few friends that have GX460's and they lifted and went off road skid package on 32's etc and both of them are pushing closer to 10 mpg in city, and that's driving as sedately as possible. And that's about 2 points below stock city they got of 12-13. LOL.

not much you can do when you add weight and get bigger tires.

I just did Pittsburgh to Fort Wayne Indiana and back this weekend for sons basketball tournament. I got 17.5 on the way out with cruise control set at 79MPH. On the trip back no cruise keeping it between 70 and 80 trying not to let it down shift I managed 18.7. Next weekend we are headed Pittsburgh to Indy going to try to see if I can see any of these magical numbers. I run into hills for the first 50 or so miles getting out of PA then Ohio is fairly flat and Indiana is well Indiana. Wondering if a tonneau cover or putting the black piece on the bottom of the front bumper would help out at all. Both ways with the mileage that I filled up at would have been about 320ish on the tank.

410 with the last tank, filled up with 18.3 gallons. Mostly flat for the work commute and one 132 mile round trip up to mountains pulling my moto trailer.

I usually do 'alright', but a recent trip to the Mojave National Preserve, ~1,000 miles round trip, I averaged 9.8 mpg for a large portion of that trip.

On my 2016 I used to get ~420 per tank, unmodified and driving like a grandpa. Those days are long gone though.

Yeah, just like grandpa. Most of the time I'm under 2500 rpm which is saying a lot for the 2.7. I drive the speed within 3 mph of the speed limit. I leave a lot of room between me and the car in front so I don't have to ride or slam the brakes as often. I also tend to coast in gear when I'm not in a hurry.

Last week I got 468 miles on a full tank (my record was 490 back in 2021). I went on 2 trips to the mountains (both 200 miles round trip) and drove to work 4 times. My tank average when I filled up came out to 26.4 mpg and there were 20 miles left. Even more shocking is that my gauge didn't dip under 1/2 tank until having driven 260 miles!
