    This was a manual, not an automatic.

    Stock gears on the 6 speed is 3.73, so someone changed them at some point.

    I wish my truck came with those gears... it would be an excuse to blow money on a lift and tires sooner then later and not have to worry about spending more money and work afterwards for re-gearing. lol

    Kind of an interesting thought if you are planning on lifting with bigger tires.

    Those are the OEM Off-Road tires and the wheels look almost brand new. My guess is whoever had it before took the lift and tires off of it and returned it to stock before trading it in.

    All the way to the right and down? I.e., where a normal manual has its REVERSE gear?

    That was my thought as well.

    If it were me trying to verify this, I'd ask to see the truck up on a lift and inspect for scratches and damages underneath. That should clearly tell the tale of the truck's past.

    That had to be a pain to drive around town. I had a '79 F150 that was geared for 38's. Messing around we put a set of 31's on and I felt like I was driving a peterbuilt with all the shifting I was doing.

    The tyres look new. I agree it was probably put back to stock once traded in. Check the manufacturing date on the tyres. Its a 4 digit code on the tyre. Being an 07 if those are the original tyres they will be manufactured sometime 05-07. The code reads: first two digits week of manufacture, third and fourth digits year of manufacture.
    e.g. 0807 would translate to 8th week of 2007.

    I presume that you are suggesting this because there is no way in hell that the factory tires would last that long under normal use, correct?

    That, and its uncommon to see those tires put back on after the OEM ones wear out. To say they have a poor reputation around here would be putting it lightly.

    Also, if he took off the factory wheels and tires, put on aftermarkets and a lift. Then simply put it back to stock with the OEM's that had been laying in the garage since '07

    That would be the implication of still having the factory tires that couldn't last that long... that they must, therefore, have been stored for some significant duration.

    This doesn't surprise me at all. With the high US dollar right now a ton of trucks are flowing into used lots in the US from Canada. Lots of these roll backs are going to have issues that the receiving dealer will know nothing about. Buyer beware.

    One thing that is worth pointing out;

    "i found the axle code for the gear ratios in the door jam and googled it. Apparently this thing has 4.56 gears in it lol."

    Nope. Google provided the wrong answer. NONE of them shipped from factory with 4.56 gears, so door jamb could never claim that that's what it has. There are more than one gear code charts, and the one that provided the 4.56 ratio is the wrong chart.

    Did you inspect the tires yet?
