I went 60K before changing my originals. No change in gas mileage.

Betcha if you clean your throttle body you’ll notice a difference! Should check it out. Easy and cheap.

Did that too, even mass airflow sensor. Blew out my AFE prodry airfilter as well. Still get 400 miles per tank.

I’m stock with crappy SR5 prerunnner suspension. I did go to 265/70R16’s with black FJ Cruiser wheels. A little wider and slightly taller tire.

I get about 280 with slightly heavier tires and wheels. 400 would be freakin sweet.

adding more weight, more rotational weight or adding wind resistance

    will give you worse MPG

Most of Toyotas maintenance schedule seems a bit ambitious, 15k diff changes if you tow or 30k if you don't. My previous trucks I changed at 100k. I kept to the maintenance schedules but really didn't see the need.

Spark plugs I changed at 30 and 60k. I don't think they needed it. But you usually notice better response from your truck and slightly better gas mileage for a little while. Is super easy and cheap for someone mechanically inclined to do it. Not so much for someone who isn't and is probably a cash cow for the dealerships...

never did diff fluid, xfer case, tranny fluid, PS fluid, blinker fluid or winter air in any vehicle I have owned

never had a failure from it either

All this maintenance is more money for dealer to make later

I did mine first time at around 42k miles. Denso plugs looked ok, NKG plugs were little bit more down. At that time I put in 6 Denso plugs purchased on dealership and last weekend when i pulled them out after about 35k miles they looked just fine with gaps all within spec.
This time I ordered Denso plugs online. definitely i would recommended not to use NKG.

Not use NGK and use the Denso plugs all around? Do they come pre gapped?

Did mine for the first time last weekend at 58k. I also changed the PCV valve and cleaned the catch can system I put on. I can tell a bit of a difference in idle. The old plugs looked fine with no real difference between the two that I saw. My old gaps were a little more than others though, most were around 0.060.

They're all pretty much pre gapped, but it's always best to double check before install...

That's what I figured since the gaps on the Denso spark plugs weren't too far off compared to the NGK.... Clerk suggested I put that I put the NGK iridium plugs.... But for some reason, the maintenance manual does not recommend the use of iridium spark plugs on the 4.0L V6 engine, only on the 2.7L V4..... Definitely will be using Denso spark plugs at the next change

I’ve changed plugs 3 times on my truck with Denso plugs that I bought from the dealer. They were never ‘pre-gapped’ correctly...I always check them.

I’m at 172,000 miles now and have learned that most of the maintenance intervals suggested are overkill but to each his own.

I now do plugs and diffs at 50,000 miles and even then they still look good. Never have changed tranny fluid and never will...:crapstorm:

    Same as everybody else...
I change mine after about 35k and honestly they look like they could go longer. I have a bad back so a lot of the maintenance stuff that I could do I don't. There's a good garage nearby with a very competent mechanic that does good work for a reasonable price. I take my truck to him for stuff I can't do, I rarely use the dealer.

Gapped at the minimum spec, these plugs will be eroded out of spec in 30,000 miles. That's why the interval is 30,000 miles. Threads like this are why I would never buy a vehicle with more than 50,000 miles unless every detail of the maintenance was meticulously recorded with receipts. The idea that "I'm fine because nothing broke" just gives me an ice cream headache.
