Engine freshly rebuilt due to blown head gasket, built my own CAI, EGR delete from LCEngineering, Billstein 5125's in the back with GM leafs, I can't stand paying for something that I can make in my garage so I built my own spacers for the front and tweaked them for 3" of lift.
I built this truck mainly as a project but due to some cut backs from my wifes employer she lost her job and we found out a week after that she was pregnant with my awesome son. So my brand new truck got sold and went on a poor mans diet, and this is my daily driver now.:D It has taken me 3 years to get to this point and I didn't skimp on what I bought as I bought what I could afford. Currently as it sits today I have done a complete inside and out cab swap from a 98 2wd auto to a 95 4wd 5spd, scored a decent donor bed from a 04 taco, rebuilt the engine, built my own CAI, sanded and primed with flat black primer to get it all one color, rode on a home made spacer lift with 31's. Now sitting on monroe struts with trd coils and store bought spacers, with 315/75R16 KM2's with aluminum wheels and 5125 Billstein shocks on the back with leafs from a 2001 S10. Now my wife has a new job and the good stuff is soon to be in the mail- 5100 Billstein adj.struts, 5.29's front and back, better clutch (haven't decided brand yet), ordered my wheel spacers tonight 1.5" Spidertrax and one day UCA's. :burnrubber:

going to 5100s your probably going to rub as it stays within the stock suspensions travel whereas the spacer moves the range of travel down where when the suspension bottoms it doesnt even hit the bumps.

In this case will it bottom out the shocks causing damage?? Using the spacers that is.... This would only happen with spacers that go on top of the coil assembly correct? Not the spacer that goes between the coil and top hat, this configuration doesn't move the range of travel down right? Just preloads the coil.... Or am I all bass akwards and either style of spacer would create this problem.

Sorry for the thread jack OP!!

spacers that go on top of the strut will do this not the ones that preload the coil. Ive seen shocks that have been damaged/blown because of bottoming on a pothole with those.

I'm not quite understanding the 5100s then, I thought that you can adjust them out to 2.5 and by doing this it would allow me to take the 1" top plate spacers out and not lose any height??

Also I'm not sure if this is common or not but I had to install wheelers 1" and a 3/8" spacer to get the sag out of the drivers side. It kind of has me puzzled because the passengers side has no spacers. I'm 6'4" and 240lbs and I know I my big ass couldn't have caused this much sag!

I believe what he's saying is that with the 5100's you are just perloading your coils to gain lift. Where as a top plate spacer is actually moving the whole strut assembly down, not preloading the coil. Don't confuse a coil spacer(preloading) with a top plate spacer.

I got ya, so do you think I can eliminate the 1" top plate spacer with the 5100s set to 2.5 and not lose my height that I have now?

Should give you about the same amount of lift yes (dont use them together though with 5100s set to lift)

On a side note... Can you post pictures of your trimmed bumper?

Yeah I can tomorrow, I don't have any of just the bumper anymore, had to have a new phone over nighted to me when my phone met its maker when I rolled over it with my jack last night.

Op you mentioned 2001 s10 leaf springs. Out of curiosity, are they factory springs, And bolt in application? Or was there fab work involved? Nice rig by the way
