Going to make the jump from 285/75/16 to 315/75/16. I'm running some Method wheels with 4.5" Backspacing. Can anyone chime in that has 315's on 4.5" BS. Primary concern is rubbing the UCA's. I'm going to do the cab mount, pinch weld and cut the fenders. Just want to make sure I don't need new wheels before I pull the trigger on the tires.

And NO I don't want to run spacers.

I tried to upload a pic of the clearance with 285 BFG KO2

man i have about the same size gap between my tires and my UCA and spindle (also running wheels with 4.5" backspacing). i want to run some 35 12.50s next go round but im concerned about them rubbing as well.

It's 1.2" difference. Split them in half and it's .6" of added width on each side of the tire. I'm just worried about the sidewall lugs on most MT tires rubbing the UCA's. I may just buy one tire and test fit it.

Looks like it should clear. Send a pic of your gap between your sidewalk and UCA

have the tire place mount a tire on for you and see if it clears... they are gonna be selling you $1000 worth of tires.... they should happily mount one on a rim for you real quick.

You'll rub...... I've got 4.25 bs wheels and 315's and I still rub a tiny bit at full lock and it's soo tight in there

So does OP. He has JBA.

I know this is an old thread but I know for a fact OP did rub, at full lock. How so I know? I have 35s, JBA UCA and 4” BS and I rub my UCA a hair at full lock. The JBA are great, but they do suck in the area of tire clearance, due to their ball joint design

Does a uniball UCA provide better clearance then?
