Looks like they may have changed their site. They used to have a table with the sizes and weight was one of the columns.

Ah okay gotcha. Yeah I’ve searched everywhere and can’t find any weight numbers. I’ll probably just try calling them this week.

The 35x10.50r17 is in the 61 to 65 range if it helps any.

35x10.5R17 is D rated, so it is a bit lighter. 265/75R16 is E rated so expect it so be on the heavy side of tires in that size range.

    Thanks for the input!

I’m prepared for that because I’m running General Grabbers right now, which are also an E rated hybrid tire. They’re 52 pounds a piece in 265/75/16. Sounds like the Klevers would be around the same.

Whatever load range it is, it's light enough at that size!

Anybody got pics of the trimming they did in the front towards the bumper cover? Got these mounted up today and so far so good. Just rubbing slightly on the cover and plastic.

Just turn to where it rubs, then cut that area.

    got some questions
    read this thread and others

#1. Why get Kenda Klever instead of Baja Boss?
After you total up a set, factor in free install and $100 rebate, Baja Boss is not that much more
    255/85R17 aka 35x10.00r17
but that tire is arguably better in many ways than the Kenda
and at 10", it might even fit easier

Kenda also, the way I see it, was/is a $150 tire. Not $250, just because they recently made it so. I feel even worse overpaying $250 marked up for what we can see by clicking back some pages, was $150. Sounds like it gained some popularity here, and other 4x4 forums from what I see, so they took advantage of that and knocked the price up

#2. There's talk of tubbing, cutting, and rubbing.
    a. Why not get the JDFab LCA pivots instead of that? Not only do they repair and upgrade crappy factory mounts, they also push the tire forward with upgraded caster to fit bigger tires with less or no mods
and at $1100 for the parts kit, it seems competitive; you get a lot more of out of that kit than a $1000 OTD DRT CMR.
Speaking of which, IDK why people do CMC's, when shops claim DRT CMR is the best cab mount.

If you made me choose, I'd rather have stronger JD pivots than a CMR; both is probably a good combo

#3, is anyone hitting the top of inside their fender, on 35 or 37?
Or is this only for LT/Long Travel?

At what point, if ever, are Inner Fenders needed?
I think I saw a guy say he had to get them when he put 37's on his 3rd gen

However, I suspect the inner fenders were also created to pair with LT/Long Travel.
From what I understand, LT puts longer control arms holding the wheel farther out, which gives you more travel up and down.
Combine that with those kinds of trucks doing jumps on desert sand; it makes sense why they'd hit that part with the tire causing damage when stock.
Versus a wheeling setup, from what I hear won't need it on 35's.

Is there any point to 11.0 or 11.5 wides? I'd think no.

Those of you with a deflated 35 shoved under the spare mount, what do you about the TPMS warning?

Is regear needed badly with these? I've heard no.
And, they weigh the same as 33's that lots of people run without regear.

are methods a good wheel for fitting big tires like this?
I see their dimensions kinda differ from SCS
    ex: Bead Grip 701
    size 17x8.5, offset spacing 0/4.75"

#1 Rebates are not always available, that leaves the prices roughly 225 for the kenda and 360 for the mickey Thompsons. That is a significant difference. If you feel the kendas are only a "$150 tire" based on a Walmart rollback price from 4 years ago, then just don't buy them.

#2. These tires fit with very minimal trimming and a Cmc. The JD fab lca pivot is a very significant modification that not everyone would be willing to make, regardless of price. If you can't figure out on your own why anyone would do a $200 CMC instead of an $1100 + labor JDfab lca pivot, no one here can help you.

#3 everyone who bottoms out their shocks with adding a bump spacer. Inner fender kits probably not necessary unless you're really beating up your truck.

#4 11 wide wheels I assume you're asking about? Not even and option if you follow mfg recommendations, you want 7-8.5

    #5 spare doesn't have a tpms sensor.

#6 regear is 100% necessary, and isn't for the weight, it's for the diameter.

#7. Methods are fine, but not necessary. The 4runner TRD pro wheels are just about perfect for these tires and are OEM quality.

    Class Dismissed.

    thanks.
I was more comparing JD pivot to $1000 OTD cab mount relocate from DRT,
in addition to other reasons for doing it
-fix damaged or weak stock LCA mounts
    -shift caster forward

that id imagine anyone with a built rig on 35’s or 37’s is gonna be more inclined towards getting than someone taking it light on 31” or 33”

maybe it’s worth starting with Kenda then and when they wear out switch to Baja Boss.
Hopefully with Kendas increase from $150 to $250 they included some improvement of the tire.

yes that makes sense it would be odd to put 10” wide tires on a 10” wheel; it would look weird and not have the sidewall come out for protection and look bad, plus harder to clear a 10” wheel
Just did not know if the popular Method bead grip 17x8.5 (already have them) is any better, worse, or the same, regarding the slight offset compared to other wheels
Like the good looking 4runner 5th gen TRD Pro wheel, SCS wheels, etc

I already have the JD pivots but never tried to put a 35” yet. running tall skinny 33” 255/80r17
Saw on their site their listed explanation/description of why Inner Fenders are recommended
Hoping I don’t need them yet for 35”
And hoping that with the pivots moved forward that the tub won’t need any hammering or adding CMC/CMR as well

besides that currently don’t have any liners or flares to rub on as they’re deleted

$150 was never the normal price of the kenda. It was always a sale price. Since then we have had significant monetary inflation. Get past that mental block of them being "$150 tires for $250".

That justifies Baja Boss even more.
    Kenda $250/ea, 4=$1000 +$100install = $1100
    Baja Boss, $350/ea, 4=$1400 - $100 rebate = $1300 installed
    -more available
    -better performing
    -looks better
    -narrower
    -longer warranty

    especially considering:
    1. these are marketed towards those upgrading their truck (already costs money)
    2. or to those with worn out tires needing replaced, which also costs money no matter what you do; even a set of little 33 Wildpeaks is like $1000+
    3. the cost gets reduced if you sell your old tires

    Stock-ish
    1. 35s will rub the inner fender, no matter what the suspension setup unless you run a bumpstop spacer. With the Jd Fab kit, you will actually cram the battery box/washer fluid area more than stock since the wheel is pushed forward.
    2. I run 37s, and still have whats left of the stock cab mount.
    3. I still run stock diff gears with 37s, doesnt bother me. Have a tune, gearlock option, and my Tacoma is still the fastest vehicle I've had, even while weighing 6k lbs.
    4. What do you consider "better performance"? I have quite literally taken my truck through anything itll fit (and not) fit thru, hood deep snow, etc with the Kendas. Even got 55k miles out of my 35x10.5s, with a diy alignment.
    5. Almost all of the "mark up" lately is just due to shipping costs. Back in the day I did get my 35x10.5s for $190ea if I remember, but that was a couple years ago now.
    6. Still havent been able to destroy a tire, and my 37s have been through the ringer.

What facts are you basing the “better performance” on? Have you ran both tires for a significant amount of time or just basing it on the fact that you’ve heard of Mickey Thompson more so than kenda? If you haven’t ran both then you can’t make any performance claims.

255/85r17 is only a 34” tire not a 35” so if your after 35” that won’t cut it.

if you simply want the baja, then buy the baja. No need to convince anyone else.

Well little update since install. Got about 350 miles on these tires. Really smooth ride for how aggressive they are. Definitely louder than my previous 285 KO2s. As for fitment didn’t have to trim anymore on the front besides the front inner fender liner towards bumper cover. No rub anywhere. Love this size for a midsize truck.
Current setup is fox elites front and rear. Running icon RXT stage 2s with SCS -10 offset wheels. Only change I see is maybe a regear to 5.29s in the future. Anyways just my two cents.
