Youtube videos have me confused, will 35x12.5 R17 work on stock Trailhunter? Is there a way to post polls on tacomaworld? I'd love to know what everyone's favorite aftermarket tire size is.

And what if OP is getting new wheels with the 35's?

What is the size tire that comes on the truck from the factory? They are 18" wheels, but I don't know what the tire size is. You can generally go up a tire profile size if you drop the wheel diameter and vice-versa and maintain similar tire-to-fender clearance.

For example, the largest tire I could run on my 2011 Tacoma with factory 16" wheels was a 265/75-16. I went to an aftermarket 17" wheel with slightly more negative offset and the largest tire I can run now is a 265/70-17. I get the same clearance and the fronts don't rub in tight turns. My truck is a SR5 and not a TRD so I had less clearance to begin with. There is a wheel and tire gizmo where you can see what combinations are compatible with each other.

The reason the hybrids have 18s is to clear the larger brake caliper that come with the heavier platform. Maybe some aftermarket 17s could clear but OEM 17s don’t

I plan on getting 17" wheels as well.
