I wouldnt even consider it with that mileage! Unless it was like $1500 even then i still wouldnt feel good about it!

This is why these trucks are so stupidly overpriced! Yes they are super awesome trucks but jesus christ, they dont last forever! People buy em at crazy prices like this just encourage people to list em for more and more. Shit the older these things get the more people want for em, drives me nuts! To be honest i dont even feel like 9k is reasonable for one with 200k or less for that matter. But...people buy em so it is what it is i suppose...

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
It's not realistically worth more than 5k in my eyes. Dealers mark them up so they can "make a profit" for themselves and nothing more. You could get a truck with much less miles for that price sold by a private party or used car dealership. Just make sure to know what to inspect and where to inspect it if you go that route. Used car dealerships and private party sellers don't really go through and do much to their cars prior to selling them.

360k is considered very high mileage, even for a Toyota, many of them may last above and beyond that but the average lifespan of an engine in today's terms is around 175k miles. From then on, you have no idea what's going on inside where the naked eye can't see; piston rings, cams, bearings, anything in the valve train, all that stuff gets old and wears out over time no matter how well the engine is maintained. Vehicles you see reaching up to 500k miles are usually driven mostly highway with little stop and go traffic and enough time to properly warm up and reach full operating temperature each day. Cold starts, and short trips without letting the engine warm up completely is really hard on them and it takes it's toll over the lifespan of the vehicle. Without knowing how the truck was driven and maintained, it's really taking a gamble buying one with high mileage.
And it's not only the engine you have to worry about with that amount of miles either, transmission, differentials and transfer-case all get long in the tooth as well. Then there's your whole steering system to worry about, cv-joints, ball joints, torsion bars and all other moving components up front are likely worn and on the verge of breaking or failing suddenly without warning if they haven't been replaced at all. Ball joints are a weak link in these trucks, the lowers primarily and if one of those fails on you, the front tire it's on will fall off and either cause a big accident or several thousand dollars in damage to your truck.

i would keep looking too. at that milage you never know, if the engine was rebuilt and the axles and diff were redone i "might" consider it. but you can always keep looking. i have a 2001, and love it but i maintain it religiously and it still has little things popping up. too risky for your situation IMO.

I would never even want a car that has 360k miles on it.9k is way too high. More like 2k.

just remember, the mileage is much more important then the age for these trucks.

look for something with 150k miles or less or keep looking
