Yes, but I have a different style bump than most. My hydros are IFP style and not an emulsion air shock.

Did you use the steel or aluminum style internal spacer?

    Steel.

Interesting about the IFP bumps. Are they similar to these Fox ones? Kind of cool. Didn’t know this was a thing.

    Stock-ish
First flex test, obviously need to trim a ton more outta the front. Front also flexs like dookie when lifting the front tire up, definitely going 18x500# springs to get the front working a little easier.

The video @erok81 posted does a better job at explaining than I can do. LOL. For racing applications, the standard emulsion bumps are great. I went this direction as my truck sees a lot of street miles and I wanted to avoid harsh engagement.

They are the Fox ones. I run the Gen II on the rear which have a rubber contact pad as opposed to the plastic that most others use. Really helps with minimizing the felt engagement for a non-racing applicaiton.

Pretty cool idea. Maybe I’ll eventually look into those for the front. Assuming I can get my kings apart and swap them back to 2” stroke. Then I can try those sweet Fox ones in the front and move the kings to the back and ditch the icons.

A picture from last weekend trip and my old dirt king kit. Fortunately @allmotorrex let me drive it on the trail and I just so happened to fold his slider into the bedside in this photo haha.

This popped up and I had to laugh a little at how high I had to run my truck to clear the tires on the street. After tubbing and deleting the wheel wells I dropped it a couple inches. If I can find a way to permanently weight the bed I might lower it a little more. Need to find a stock Tacoma to see how much height I have compared to stock.

Oh yeah I agree. My hardcore wheeling days are behind me (unless I win the lottery and can buy a house, truck, trailer, and build a buggy or something similar ). I live in the wrong area but I built mine for fast off road. Don’t need the height as much as you would.

That and mine is a street truck so technically I don’t need any extra clearance. :anonymous:

Maybe a silly question but how are you guys bypassing the steering wheel lock when tubbing? Will it not lock if you disconnect the battery?
