With enough off-roading , sooner or later the tires will clearance themselves.

False, you'll just break a cv, chew your tires up and break your core support off.

No one's upset here, at least from my end (the fact I'm liking your posts should be an indication of that, I appreciate hearing from experienced individuals)...I can't speak for you however. You do seem to be more focused on nitpicking and being right than actually sharing knowledge.

OR option 3, people draw a temporary line in the sand with how far they want to take modifications to their vehicle to try experimenting with new things, ergo jumping from 35's to 37's and achieving 80% results to get a taste. Can always revert back to 35's, but cutting several square feet of inner fender from a truck is no small task. No I'm not rebuilding my truck around 37's, because I'm not convinced they're staying yet.

Of course that comes with compromises, and it forces an individual to either progress down the chosen path or revert to the old one. So yes, I came here curious as to whether or not others used a body lift to get more clearance out of their larger tires, forgive me if I didn't adopt to your current understanding of how WarFab thinks 37s should fit. I don't need to go very far back in your post history to see how you began wheeling a taco on 37's, in this very thread you're running a very similar setup to where I'm currently at now and relying on hammered pinch welds and cab mount chops to do so.

Debatable, theres plenty of people that spent 12k+ on a marlin kit and refuse to tub.

But marlins suspension is also arguably properly set up anyway.

    Can confirm.

Better than just mudflaps, have full coverage on the inside too. A must when up north with snow and salt 6 months of the year.

these are some nice looking trucks, this is the party i wanna join. info is a little mixed. so i’m on 34s right now with a cmc with a couple inches of lift, but would like to run 37s (or at least true 35s). i would like to not touch the firewall. Considering I don’t do extreme rock crawling like i see in some of these pics, but just your average trail off-roading & camping at the moment at least.

I’m soon going to have an after market SSO bumper installed (as seen in pic), & looking to get the C4 oversized tire kit installed at a fab shop that’ll do it, which requires cutting a few inches of fender & relocating the body mount (as seen in pic). so i’m searching for knowledge/advice. is the few inches of fender cutting & body mount relocation, along with the trimming of the front plastics from the bumper install, as well as getting some uca to push the tire forward going to be enough to clear 36.5s or a true 35?

@Stricklytoyz so you’re thinking i can only safely get away with a 315/70r17 or 35x12.5 with these mods while still having full functionality?

I finally got bigger tires 2020 Long Travel Tacoma 1997 MAGNUM
I've heard some not so good things about the c4 fenders. One, being that the fitment is bad. Two, is that it doesn't fit perfect, so there's small gaps and it traps debre.

    That is what I heard, I don't own a pair ^^

I run no liners, engine bay isn't the cleanest but i have no issues

came across that but only in regard to the c4 cmr and it’s fitment, (could be biased as it was from a dirt king rep.) but i haven’t seen enough of them mounted. i saw a video of the fender liners & it did look like a snug fit, but i’ll just have to trust the shop to just make those happen. heres a c4 relocation compared to a dirt king relocation. but by all means c4 does sell the liners alone instead of the whole bundle i showed, and the dirt king cmr can be purchased alone too to make my own combo instead of the $748 c4 bundle.

I hear this alot but it's a pretty common misconception about high caster ucas. They are designed to correct for caster lost when lifting your truck.

Pulling caster from the uca actually pushes the tire closer to the cab, pulling caster by moving your lower arm froward with you rear caster adjuster and playing with the front Camber adjuster is how you gain clearance.

So I'm stock height with 3 degrees of caster, if I were to put a high caster uca and pull 2 more degrees from the uca it would push my tire towards the body. It makes perfect sense when you think about it. I always hear this blanket statement about ucas, but you don't need them unless your lifted and it's not to gain clearance

Similar to how a lift doest help you gain clearance for bigger tires if you actually cycle the suspension. Unless you are also going to extend bump stops to limit up travel. It's a very unpopular opinion.

i’m no mechanic of course, but my alignment guy, whom was recommended through taco world, told me if i were to lift higher than the couple inches i already have, or go bigger than the 285/75r17 i have, he’d recommend aftermarket uca for more caster so he could do a better alignment, but said he did the best he could with my stock uca. to a non mechanic that just sounds like “make the tire fit better and rub less”

im just trynna get some extra beef on the truck man :( without destroying the firewall. but i’ll pay to play
