Hey there everyone. I have a question about fitment on some tires .I just got a 2001 Tacoma double cab . As of right now It is equipped with the 6" fabtech lift with king coilovers and a 3" body lift running 35x12.50-15 bfg mt
I just ordered a set of Moto metal 970 in a 18x10 with 37" toyo mt . Couple of questions.
The wheels are -24 offset and 4.56 backspacing. Do you think the wheels and tires will clear the control arms fine? Also I know 37 are a lot of tire for IFS on the truck and a 1st gen in general but the truck has 5:29 gears front and rear already and are a little too much gear for the 35 on the truck which is why I wanted to go with 37. I know I have seen a few guys running 37 on similar setups but most have a spacer on top of the fabtech struts to give it a little more lift more like 10-11" of lift. How bad will they rub with just the total of 9" of lift? Since I have the king coilover do I just crank them up a little more to do the same concept as the spacer does on the own fabtech struts? I have a Gen 2 with 9" front & 11" rear. I think your biggest clearance issue will be the inner fender when your wheels are turned and the wheel travels upward. Gen 1.jpg

youl probably need less backspacing and do some minor trimming. weve got some crazy bastards on here that have fit 37s on no lift. youve got 9 extra inches to work with.

got them put on a couple of weeks ago . for the most part the fit pretty decent. they rub a little if you flex while turning but for the most do pretty good. I'm happy with them

Keep an eye on things more frequently from now on. 37s are a huge tire for the ifs

3" Toytec spacers, Bilstein 5100s in the back with add a leaf and overloads removed.
Only issue should be the frame and maybe inner fender if the offset isn't that much. More than enough lift for 37s though
