I have been going back and forth for a couple weeks, cannot decide which to buy. I need a tire 70% trail, 30% highway. Toyo MT looks like my best option so far, I would go KM2 for a 35, but you can't find them. I have a SAS Tacoma with a Dana 44 and ARB up front, factory Tacoma axle and E-Locker in rear. The rims I want to run are the 6.5" Toyota Steelies they made from '69 to '85 so that I can air way down and not worry about throwing a bead, since beadlocks are not street legal.

Pros for the 37s are a super soft ride aired down and lots of tread to the ground. Cons of the 37s are if they will fit with the lack of backspacing on those rims (cutting firewall isn't a problem), that is a super wide tire for a 6.5" rim, and the biggest concern is reliability and breaking drivetrain components. Pros of the 35s are that they would fit for sure, lower gear ratio on trail, and don't worry about drivetrain reliability. Cons for the 35s are not quite the contact patch and a little less ride quality.

I am looking for opinions, I can't decide. Do you think the 37's will be a reliability issue?

Seems like the only company that makes such a tire in the 15" rim is Super Swamper, and they wear like crap on the road.
