Additional ground clearance is never a bad thing and I’d also like to fill the wheel wells of the the new glass.

I won’t lie. Half the reason I did it is because 35’s looked dumb with the glass.

Exactly my thoughts. 35’s look at home right now with trimmed OEM flares but once I make the leap to glass I think they won’t fill(especially with a DCLB)

Who cares? I’d bet way over half the people here that add lift and tires don’t need it. Why not have fun? Build a truck you like? Diminishing returns start the moment you drive off the lot.

Most of my truck is built with stuff I definitely don’t need. But building it was fun and I enjoy driving it around. Well the gas mileage I don’t enjoy but everything else I do.

Haha yep! That was my exact process. 35’s looked good trimmed. Went LT. Needed glass. Looked stupid. “Had” to get 37’s. Now looks perfect again. Although I wish they would have had 4” fenders when I got mine. Occasionally I think mine looks a little silly with 6”.

Don’t forget there’s going to be a huge weight descripency between, for example, Toyo MTs, which are traditionally heavy vs a Grabber AT which is generally lighter. Weight is typically proportional to tire size, but a 35” toyo (which many people run including myself) might stack up evenly to a 37” Grabber AT in terms of weight. So as long as the width is the same and you’re trimmer for both, to summarize

    Just fkn do it :woot:

    THIS.

Big tires make the same trail easier. So if the trail stays the same and the tires get bigger, you're actually stressing the truck less. I've seen more people break stuff with 33s then I have on 37s. Because I have to work a lot less to clear the same obstacle. For a trail riding truck that makes complete sense to me.

If hardcore rock crawling is your thing...then the Tacoma was a shit choice in the first place and I have no advice to offer other than buy a UTV or build a buggy.

You can't really site that as an example of Tacomas making good rock crawlers.

Yeah once you cut the entire suspension out of it and replace it with Tons, coilovers, links and 40s, plus a crawlbox and all the accompanying mods that double the price of the vehicle. And if you don't care about sheet metal damage, then yeah its a good rock crawler. But I'd hardly call having to cut off and replace half of what makes it a Tacoma an example of a good starting point for a crawler.

The last I checked the marrack wasn’t out yet. But I highly doubt they’ll limit it to only being available with the LT setup.

The clearance is easy, just keep cutting until they fit. You may want to move the cab mounts back.

I would upgrade to RCVs and think about a larger steering rack, 5.38's would be nice too. I bent my OEM tie-rods rock crawling, and it seems like I need to align the truck every time I do any serious wheeling. 37's isn't going to make that any better.

On mine the cab mount was easy. It’s 90% gone. The wheel well is another story.

As long I don’t turn they tuck fine!

Some how just making a wild guess  that when you move to 37's your plan will be well thought out and probably have a few custom parts....just sayin

    Go for it!

They've already said LT only. There was much disappointment but there's some issue with the tie rod length no being long enough on non-LT trucks. So Solo is our only other option.
