Hello - I am planning to install Stealth Custom Series wheels 17 x 9 with a -38 offset with ko2 tires on my rig. I have a SR5 so I don't have fender flares and was told that my wheels will stick out more compared to anyone with a TRD.

Anyone have experience with these types of wheels or with wheels with a huge negative offset?

How bad is the rubbing? Let me know what you guys think, should I stick with these wheels or get a lower offset?

I'd love to see pictures of your rigs if you do!

If you like an aggressive stance go for it. I'm a fan of more negative offset and am running -38mm offset SCS wheels. You'll definitely rub more with more negative offset so you'll have to do more cutting but dependent on your overall tire size you choose it probably won't be too bad. If you do 285s you'll need a CMC for sure though.

I hear your ball joints screaming. They will look sweet and rub like an asian massage, but anything is possible. Lots of trimming and maybe a fabtech 6" lift and you should be able to drive it.

Talk about blowing it out of proportion... you don't need a 6" lift to run high offset wheels. Plenty of stock height trucks running them. It's much more dependent on tire size than anything.

But... yes you will most likely rub without some kind of modification and/or lift, especially if you want to run a tire any larger than stock.

Yeah. My set up is Bilstein 6112 in the front and 5160 in the rear giving me a 2.5/2.75 inch list with Camburg UCA and ko2 285s. Does the offset put a huge strain on the UCA? I am wondering how it impacts drivability?

What type of rims do you have? Size and Offset? Also did you run with that Bilstein set up with 285’s?

I haven't done the set up just yet. Planning to do it next week but wanted to get opinions on the rubbing situation from people who have it. Or to see if the neg offset is worth it.

I see. I am in the same boat. I think I’ve decided I want -10 offset instead. I’m also thinking about Bilstein 6112 front and rear 5112 which is like 2.5 inch lift. I really want 285’s but I don’t want to cut anything.

you’ll rub for sure and need to cut wheel liner, cmc, random areas of trimming. Have to bash the pinch welds if you plan to offroad (assuming you’re going for 285s - though depending if you do a 33 vs 34” tire you might not need to cut as much

the reality is you’ll rub unless you cut and if you’re willing to cut and like the aggressive stance then go for it

here’s an idea how much poke might look, these are -38 offset

If you don’t want to cut your cab mount and do minimal plastic cutting then go with -10mm offset and stick with 285/70/17 or 285/75/16

I like my -25 offset, just enough poke to make me happy. I had -10 ray 10s and wasn't satisfied, Rubs in reverse turning but nothing crazy

Wait, you are saying that I am blowing this out of proportion, but then turn around and say that it will rub? Haaa, absolutely hilarious. That is exactly my point.
