I've seen clutches warrantied in the first 1000km. Anything can happen.

They won't even return my calls, I think we're all good, but the service desk has told me that parts are on order, nothing other than that. It's Saturday, so apparently service doesn't matter

On saturday, they don’t do warranty work, so on the weekend a lot of the regular service techs and mechanics won’t be there. It’s mostly for weekend oil changes and non warranty (read: for profit) jobs.
I’m sorry to hear of the troubles with your new truck. I know it’s not a good feeling, I hope it gets sorted out quickly for you.

It's also booked solid with a limited team, it's meant for maintenance, not warranty repairs.

When people complain about this with all dealers I ask if they work 6 day weeks.

Not quite the same, but a few years ago I bought a brand new, 2014 VW Passat Diesel. At 7,000 miles, the turbo grenaded. Fixed under warranty. 2 years later, at a total of 75,000 miles.... yeah, 2nd turbo grenaded. Shortly after that, I sold it back to VW as part of the big diesel emissions scandal, and bought my 2017 OR Taco :D

So the service Desk told me Saturday that parts were on order, that was not the case. When I spoke with the service adviser for my vehicle on Monday, he indicated that parts would be ordered on Tuesday, after they tore it all apart. It's looking like my truck might not be ready before the long weekend, which is also the start of my two week holiday. So much for being able to rely on a brand new vehicle to tow my boat on that holiday.

I'm not saying that one person has to work six days a week, but scheduling a full crew for all the days that are open doesn't seem like too much to ask?

what even better is you get to request a different truck for you to use. If they don't help, call yota corporate.

...and it won't be ready, as of 3pm; no parts ordered, and the dealership is waiting to hear from corporate as to whether it will be covered.
A lot of people are telling me that I should be requesting a new new, what does everyone here think about that?

A new truck? They are hesitate to get you a new clutch but you think they'd entertain a new truck. Won't happen. Let them fix it.

Sounds like they will fix it under warranty.

Dude you’re lucky they didn’t say YOU burnt it out out the lot purposely or not...clutches are a touchy subject, very rarely do they give out on their own so very early like yours...but then again very early may have helped your cause...now if it were your driving, not saying it was, there won’t be a second time, you can bet that golden retriever in your truck bed on that!

Out of curiosity, did it happen on an uphill? Or reversing/backing up a slope? How did it give out, driving on flat ground? It just refuses to go into gear or kept popping the shifter out of gear? Curious to know if you even had warning signs before your cab filled up with that Smokey fishy metallic horrid smell...

Does anyone know what type of clutch system is on the MT’s? Dual mass flywheel or no? I’m sure these things are supposed to be bullet proof considering they are made for off-roading for some trims and hauling/towing for most...

Driving down the highway, when taking off from a stop light it began slipping, I thought I was spinning my tires, changed into second, and knew instantly what had actually happened, I crawled to the next turn off and called roadside assistance. The trick is so new, it wasn't even registered with them yet! And I wouldn't bet anything against him, he's the best dog I've ever had or met

the only warning I had was the day before when I got out of the truck I could smell the burnt clutch. Check out my previous reply as to how it went out. And before anyone asks, yes, I know how to drive standard, I learned at 15 on my Grandpa's 86 Toyota pickup, and have always had a standard in the family since then, I'm 36 now

And after all this time, I finally heard back from Toyota. They have denied my warranty claim.

So 236 miles with 20 years of experience driving a standard, yet denied.

    Wow.

Hope you have the Corporate office on speed dial.

    That is ridiculous.
