I do to, but it shouldn't be too difficult to rattle can the plastic before you install it and cover it with a clear coat in whatever sheen you want. I haven't dealt with that type of printing plastic but model makers have been painting their products so I wouldn't see why it wouldn't be possible to paint. I really like the elevated switch blanks. I'm sure that OP has been kicking this idea around for a while and it shows. Bravo.

It is a shifter lockout to prevent people from driving around in 4th gear all day. My ex was notorious for this. Like all the features it is an option and can be made without.

Long story short, ASA is basically ABS with UV stabilizers in it so it won't fade. I've had a piece sitting in the driveway since June that shows no signs of fade. That said it should be sandable and paintable, or installed as is.

I just now made an account to say that this is awesome and I’m definitely interested once you get a production model going. Love the idea of utilizing all the dead space the stock console has.

Do you have a built in charger for the Baofengs or some sort of molding on the underside to fit a charger in there? Also, do the radios sit high enough to access the audio port on the side for use of hand mics?

Have you determined a price yet?

could you do one without the three switches (I have enough elsewhere already) and just do a row of flashlight type holes along the right side of the gate along the Baofeng radios like you have in the prototype?

The charging bays will take the circuitry f on the desk charger that came with the radios.

Adding and removing features and holes is easy enough. Price is looking like it will be about 350.

Give me the same thing with a single radio and I'm set..

    Amazing.

I also have a couple wireless chargers coming in to test, so a cellphone charging pocket will be another option I'll be adding.

I would suggest picking a couple spots on the "master" center console where you can slot in different "modules" that would all slot in with the same mounting system. That way you can mass produce the center console and only have to produce various different modules in lower numbers. That way if a customer orders one with a space built for say, a rare handgun and they suddenly flake on you then you are not out a ton of expense of an entire console, instead just a smaller module. It would also be much more cost effective to be able to experiment with printing different modules instead of having to print the entire console to check fitment. If the modules had a similar mounting configuration then they could be interchangeable also so that people could mix and match their modules to different parts of the console based upon their needs. You could have multiple handgun/ammo clip modules for different models of guns, a module to hold a couple 2-way radios, one to hold some accessory switches(flat or angled like in your prototype), a wireless phone charging spot, plus whatever else people wanted, and of course, a blanking plate in case someone wanted to remove a module for security reasons. I am not sure if I am explaining well so yell if I need to clarify.

Edit: After a little more thought....One console that is clean with no place for any modules then one console with a space for a console in the upper right, one with two module "holes" for both upper passenger side and lower passenger side....That also allows someone to grow into the system and replace a module they may not need any longer with a different module. It will also allow you to continue to sell modules long after someone has purchased a console.

My system is similar. The made modules for the radios, switches, coin holder, etc. Then I add them where I want into the console. Printed modules would mean even more plastic and printing time and more $.

For the price range you’re thinking, some ability to customize would definitely be nice. A few different “zones” with different options in each. For example, I already have the Scosche wireless charger and wouldn’t benefit from one on here, and I’m sure other people are in the same boat.
