I've found the biggest contributor to warping and cracking is time. The longer it takes to print, the more likely it is to warp or crack. My Tevo was doing abs prints about palm sized without an enclosure. The longer and generally taller a print is, the more the layers will have a temperature differential and pull upon each other.

I've only printed ABS twice, but both prints where very simple items so they both came out OK. I have an enclosed printer so I suppose it helps but its not really rated for ABS although it can do it, since the bowden(?) tube goes down into the hot end, eventually it will start to fail (and my bed only heats to 80c but so far that hasn't been an issue. My biggest issue with 3d printing is the inconsistencies from filament to filament. Even changing color, even if its the same brand and type, can require somewhat large changes to the slicing settings to achieve good or equal results. It has taught me that once you find a really reliable filament for each material, definitely write down the brand and the color and save the slicer profile accordingly so you have a good go-to, lol.

Once you find a good brand, stick to it. I've found the faster you go the more you have to dial it in. Often times slowing the printer down will fix it. That's something I struggle with doing, it feels like defeat, printing is SOOO slow. Then again, my printer prints 300mm/s...:muscleflexing::benchpress:

Yeah that is insanely fast. I can generally get away with 55mm/s at most... after that it becomes questionable lol.

Honestly I didn't think it would be this fast when I built it. Now that I have, I think I can squeeze a little more out of it with an extruder upgrade. The next printer though...

Forgive me if someone already asked Chris, but will you be taking pre-orders for it?

And will there a be a special discount for San Diegans? :D:rofl:

The printer or the console? Not sure if I'm going to be selling printers. Still thinking on that one.

I'm printing my first console to be sold right now, should be done in a few days, and then I'll start taking orders for those.

And San Diegans can save on shipping and handling!:D

Do you have any plans to put a finish on it IE; acetone vapor? Or just as a raw product?

And I think my hotend has had enough of 250° temps, the Bowden tube is melting during the prints now and jamming up the filament resulting in prints failing about 6-8 layers in.

Just raw. I think most people will love it just as it is. Some might vapor smooth it, or sand and paint it, but I'm trying to keep feature creep from going insane(r) and keep the cost relatively affordable.

I got a picture to give an idea on the supports. Cupholder/pocket on left, coin holder on right. Everything else is support material...

Should be no problem. Just need to get my hands on one to model it.

That printer looks industrial lol... those supports don't look like fun to clean up.

Will these be in ABS for final finished product? PLA is more reactive to UV rays.

Depending on features they will be 300-350.

They will be in ASA. Similar characteristics to ABS, but with UV stabalizers to prevent fading.

That was the intention. Build a production grade printer. I've worked on/repaired production machines for almost 2 decades. It's not too bad to cleanup.

We have a couple we've custom made for making parts at work and they kind of look similar but they don't print anywhere near the speed yours does. I might end up getting a more higher end printer eventually to do more exotic materials or maybe change my hotend and carriage on my current one (anycubic 4max pro)... we will see. I only really have experience with direct from china printers thus far.
