I'd love to see those printers you got at work.

I started with a couple of chinese printers, a Tevo and an Ender. They prooved out that some of the things I want to do are possible with 3d printing. Reliability though... When I decided I wanted to upgrade, I couldn't find any that had the build volume I needed that were any where near the worth of the price they were asking. Most looked like bigger versions of hobby grade machines, with HUGE price tags. I've seen $15,000 machines that are still using V-groove rollers...

Yeah reliability has plagued mine... It has a titan extruder clone and the side opposite of the extruder motor over time slowly flexes causing slipping on the filament which forces me to have to put more pressure on the extruder gear with the adjustment screw and eventually it flexes so much the sprocket will slip out of the other side of the case. Had to replace this piece twice in the about 2 years I've owned it.

Yeah I'll have to see if I can get some pics of them... they set them all up in anticipation for a new plane they where gonna start producing but then they sold the airframe to another company lol. So I think the backshop uses them for their random projects but they mostly collect dust.

The genuine name brand stuff has helped this printer heaps. I went into this with the intention of not compromising, within reason. Well I don't know where reason went, but I have yet to have a single screw loosen, or need to resquare/level frame, etc. I often catch myself leaning on the printer too.

No, I cracked it on the side of the sifter bump by the switch holes. Not visible in the picture.

Have a blemished unit going up for sale today, I'll throw it up here first. Only issues are cosmetic. Will require trimming to fit. $300 shipped to USA.

Spent the last few days trying to dial in the issues with the black filament. We'll find out if I was successful in the next day or two...

2020 has been a year to remember. It seems as though when you need something, everybody is backordered. I've started to adopt the 2 is 1 and 1 is none theory when ordering parts. I got a delivery today and I think it's the parts I've been waiting on to get back up and running.

They sent me the wrong part! And as Murphy's law states, they're closed this week... :annoyed: Found one on ebay though, $150 cheaper too. Just a little more hurry up and wait... :goingcrazy:

Yes. Printer is back together with some upgrades that resulted in me rewiring the entire printer... Spent a few weeks trying to dial out the issues I've been having without much luck. Switched software a couple weeks back and have dialing that in to my machine. Results with the new software are looking good and I think I have it where I want it to be now. Have a print on there right now, and if it comes out good a console will be the very next print.

    Basically stock for now.
Really looking forward to one of these! The factory cup holder is garbage. The added switch location and all the other features are bonus.

Man if you could make an option to add 2 or 3 gauges you’d have a bunch of us from the boosted community buy these. Running out of room to add gauges.

That shouldn't be a problem. I'll have to get a hold of a gauge to model it up, but I MIGHT even be able to fit 2 gauges where the coin holder is.

And for everyone still paying attention. I have one printing now, should be done in a few days. On the very plus side, if I didn't fix the issues I've been fighting I was finally able to order the upgraded extruder that's been on backorder since for almost a year...
