I 3D printed some mounts to use LED rock lights as underhood lighting for my 2nd gen as I wasn’t happy with the LED strip. They work with the KC Cyclone or the Rigid/Amazon rock lights. I didn’t realize until tonight that the brackets would probably work for 3rd gens as well and you guys might be interested. All of the details are in the thread below but here are a few photos. I have a couple sets of brackets left if anyone is interested.

Yep, I made 10 pairs of the brackets. So I'm just selling a pair of brackets with the M5 screw and well nut. You supply the rock light you want to use. $26 shipped. That's my cost, no profit, I just made a batch since it seemed like there was interest in them.

I have not, but looking at photos of 3rd gens under the hood they seem to have the same drain holes as the 2nd gen.

Alright, the last set has been spoken for! I guess those went a lot faster than I expected.

If there is more interest I can make another batch. Let me know if you're interested and I'll get another list going. I'll do batches of 10 orders unless it starts picking up and a lot more want them.

These are pretty sweet, but they are begging to be machined from aluminum :)

That could easily be done but it would double or triple the price!

The holes in my 3rd Gen Sport hood is about 1/4” (see pic), if your well nut will fit in the existing holes without having to drill and your hardware are all stainless steel, i will buy a set from you.

Thanks for the photo, can you take one zoomed out so I can see all the other holes under the hood?

Here is the full hood. The earlier pic i took was of the hole in the middle of the hood on the right side rib. There are 2 of them and that is the only holes under the hood in the similar position as the 2nd Gen. all the other holes in the middle are the same size.

Thanks for that. I’ll take a closer look at my truck and the well nuts in the morning.

So it looks like the wellnut will not work in those smaller holes. Unfortunately the next two sizes down are not significantly smaller diameter.

There are a few options for 3rd gen guys.

    1) Drill a hole in the positions you are missing the 2nd gen holes (arrow on the photo below). If you have installed hood struts this isn’t any more difficult than that.

    2) You can use the circled holes on the photo below which appear to be larger. The LEDs have enough spread to still illuminate the entire engine bay.

    3) Use the smaller holes with something other than a wellnut. I’m thinking you could use something like a short drywall anchor, or a nylon license plate bolt off a motorcycle fished through from the other side.

IMO Option 1 would be the easiest and cleanest. Tons of people have drilled for hood struts without issue.
