I was finally able to get most of what I need to put a system into my Tacoma. Out of ASA, I 3d printed the rear speaker mounts to fit the Morel 4" speakers from my previous car. 2 parts, will join together with some ASA glue.Could of gone better, some warping, but they'll do. 20240326_215234.jpg 20240326_215139.jpg20240326_215131.jpg

It is the conductor for a Helix V-eight.

Using epoxy on the piece in to the trim, I figure if I screw it up I can just replace the trim. Going to paint it so it looks like one decent piece. This is the mount for the conductor, which is going to control the amp/DSP combo the Helix V8 MK2. That is going to power an active three-way up front and the morel hybrid Integra in the rear. 2 Evo 10's will go behind the rear seat, with my sundown amp. Waiting on the Mr Marv boxes. Going to use different resonix products for sound deadening on the rear wall, roof, and doors.20240330_130312.jpg17118190472953644715058617964556.jpg

I'm conflicted now, I think I like the look of it as is, but I'm also wondering if it will look better painted like a satin black. I sanded the trim and kind of like the look it has. Anyone have some input? Maybe just a layer of clear?

Very cool. Love seeing things printed for the truck as I myself have a printer!

Well, I vinyl wrapped it. Looked good, but, fitting it in I think it's not quite as nice- this was just the test fit, not flush. It didn't drop in quite like I hoped so used a little epoxy to hold the front of the piece in, waiting for it to cure before taking more pictures. This and the tweeters will probably be the worst of my build, everything else will hide behind existing panels, at least not see quite as much traffic as this piece.20240331_140832.jpg 20240331_140729.jpg

That’s a great spot for the conductor! I got super lazy and mounted mine next to the switches on the left.

Here it is installed and cured. I will see how it does over time, hopefully it stays solid. 20240401_065227.jpg

Next item I'll be trying to get right is the dash speakers, so far I'm using the mounts from my old car and printed a little wedge ring thing to mount on the dash covers.PXL_20240404_095106249~2.jpg

Had to change up the mount, would not fit without hitting the glass. This is the left dash speaker mounted up, not finished yet.PXL_20240406_233512743.jpg

More progress, needs sanding and finishing. I've never done this before, just used to hiding everything behind existing panels. This car is mine from mile 6, so I figured I'd do something special and track my progress, I hope you all don't mind. Once this is done and I get my Mr. Marv boxes the simpler, easier to hide stuff starts. Can't start on the amplifiers until I know how much the boxes take up.PXL_20240408_233312303.jpg PXL_20240408_233310142.jpg

I have no idea what everyone else thinks, but I'm personally enjoying this. You are actually adding value to TW, in my opinion. The oil threads and the tire threads get pretty old after a minute. Keep it coming, I'm enjoying seeing what you are coming up with!

    Agreed. Keep the updates coming!

Out of curiosity what was the reason for not printing the entire amount? Was it just a matter of added difficulty drawing up in CAD?

I'm an amateur at CAD, can make some simple stuff, plus not sure if my 3D printer would pull of such a feat without tinkering more than the time I can.
Edit: Just finished painting the two panels:PXL_20240413_003506800.jpg

I sanded the two panels back down and added more filler to smooth it out, then SEM high build primer surfacer. They are done, I think the imperfections are minimal enough to put into the car.PXL_20240413_205626484.jpg

Installed the dash speakers, one door speaker with sound treatment, and sound treated the back wall- didn't take pictures though, it's just MLV, CCF, and some fiber mat thrown in.PXL_20240419_192726560.jpg PXL_20240419_192723773.jpg
