    Hello All,

    THE POINT
I'm looking for ideas to make items for my Tacoma. I have access to a 3D printer, but not at that stage yet. I'm just modeling stuff on Solidworks playing around on it. The materials i can use are different types of plastics and brass.
As a example one of the items i am looking at making is
    -Flip Key Fob
    - Combine my ignition key, alarm, House Key, and work Fob. All into one compact unit.
    -Pistol Holster
    - a holster to hide a pistol inside the cubby hole between the steering wheel and the dash.
for quick access to pistol but not visible through side windows.

    So anyone else have ideal?

    BACK STORY
I recently purchased a 2013 Tacoma TRD-Sport. So far love this truck

So i blew my modding budget when i purchased the vehicle. So I'm just kinda kicking around ideas. I plan to model some ideal and then print them out at my local hacker space.

    My background is structural engineering.

Can you build a 3rd gen tacoma? Would be nice and light being made of plastic and brass. If not you could probably whip up some cool custom badges for your truck!

    Badges....hmm that would be interesting.

sorry 3D printed materials would not be good for load bearing objects..... might work for cables trays or supports but not for what you like.

The guys over at one of the 4runner forums had custom made a TRAIL logo for the C pilar for the Trail models.

You could pop out the front grill Toyota logo and make them any color people want.

I've been kicking around some ideas myself. I know another guy on the forum 3D prints/sells a phone mount for the center console and i made one myself. I've been thinking of different mounting ideas for phones/radar detectors/etc. You could 3d print mounts for stuff to go on the bed-rails. I'm going to beef up some of my current jerry-rigged mounts with some good quality and better designed 3D printed mounts.
