I just did the ecgs bushing on my 17 trd off-road. After doing so I tested the 4wd. 4wd hi works fine, goes into gear no problem. 4lo seems to have a weird idle and when I put it into crawl control the truck starts to have issues. When releasing my foot from the brake the truck moves just as it should but it makes hesitation and sounds like something is slipping and the brake pedal flutters even though I’m not touching it.

Took it to the dealer for insight, they are worthless. Basically told me I’m not allowed to talk to the techs, I need to drop it off and they will create a word order and hope they fix it.

The truck has bilstien 6112s in the front and 5160s in the rear. Suspension was installed by 4wheel parts. Since the lift was installed, the truck has only been in 2wd, and 4 hi. Prior to the lift I used crawl control with no issues.

Would anyone have insight on what the problem could be?

    Thanks

Only thing I could think would cause an issue since the bushing doesn't mess with any systems, is that you somehow knocked one of the speed sensors loose, see if 4lo and atrac does the same thing

That's how the crawl control works. Makes a lot of noise and sounds like stuff is binding. Just adjust your crawl control settings

Crawl control wouldn't be pulsating unless it was using the brakes if a wheel was slipping

Or using a really low setting if going too fast for that setting. Truck flutters if going to fast that setting. Not sure if that makes any sense

I get what you mean, I was only using crawl control in a low setting. If I’m not applying gas how could it be too low of a setting?

When on the lowest setting, or crawl control in general I'm never on the gas and if not on a hill my crawl control typically makes the symptoms you said

So when you use it on a higher setting on flat ground, you experience no issues? I’ll try that and see if it works

Right, the pulsating is part of the crawl control. I adjust to how fast the vehicle is going.

If turned all the way to the right it will pulsate a lot, just play with the knob and find that happy setting.

When I put it on the lowest setting it’s from a dead stop. I don’t put my foot on the gas or the brake. Any idea what that setting would be for?

The 5 CC settings are just speed control: 1-5 mph.

If you put your truck in crawl control, on lowest speed, on flat ground, it sounds like Godzilla is trying to rip out of the engine compartment and the truck will surge and shake like crazy. Crawl Control, in my experience, is only smooth and behaved when you actually need it (all four wheels stuck on a steep hill etc).

This is good to know. Lifted my truck last week and tried out the CC & MTS modes for the first time this morning. Heard the Godzilla sounds when attempting to use CC on level, gravel-covered dirt (when I didn't actually need it).

This started to freak me out! I tried this on a moderately steep decline and had massive clank sounds as it crawled down for a few yards.

So then bumping this thread... technically a lift won’t mess with the computer (MTS or CC) or 4wd modes correct? OP did you ever figure it out?
