If you are handy with a saw, you can make room. I made a 2.5" work with 35's on a Cherokee, which as extremely small fenderwells.

3" Toytec spacers, Bilstein 5100s in the back with add a leaf and overloads removed.
Silas Has/had 35 (and 37s I believe) on a 3 inch lift. You have to cut the fenders up pretty good but it's possible.

save all the cutting on the truck and just get a 6" suspension, I have a fabtec 6 inch suspension with 35 inch bfg mudd terrains, i still had to cut some of the plastic out of the inner wheel wells, and it's still close to rubbing in the rear when i flex it out. all that cutting away talk is making my penis soft.

Honestly I'd prefer to to run 3" on 35's. Same amount of ground clearence plus not as top heavy.

I had 35's on 3" up front and stock rear. Did glass bedsides for the rear to get it to fit and the front becasue im LT im alot wider, the glass fenders and hammering the pinch weld was enough.

Way wrong, I've seen at least 10 trucks run 35s with a 3" lift, I've seen a 2nd gen run 37s with a 3" lift and there is a member running 34s with no lift.

i just dont see the point in cutting away your fenders? i wheel all the time and my truck doesnt seem "top heavy" ever... take the time, spend a few more dollars and do it right the first time or mangle up your fenders and cut the truck to pieces. obviously this isnt my rig, so it's up to the Op to customize his ride to suit his needs and i respect all opinions on the subject. with that said, i know how my truck handles and love the stance and abilities that came with the set-up i'm running... and it still looks great at the same time.

    Holy Chit....

I had 35's on my Jeep with Waggy 44's front & rear and 4.5" lift. I had a 1" body lift, trimmed fenders/flares, and ford shock towers...... all that to allow the SUA to flex without hitting.

I think you're gonna need - WANT - more than that.

Unless of course...you'll never take it offroad or flex the suspension. In that case... what a damn waste of a dana 44. ;)

"Cutting away your fenders" or "mangle up your fenders" is very objective. Many people have done very clean tubbing and trimming jobs on their trucks to fit larger tires on 3" of lift. "Doing it right the first time" is also a very objective statement.....

As with many 6" drop bracket lifts you have to cut out a frame crossmember to install the lift. Would you rather hack off a part of your frame, or your fenders?

And it has been discussed in great detail in the past, and I am not starting a pissing match, but a truck with 33's and a 3" lift will have comparable, if not the same ground clearance as a truck with a drop bracket lift and 35's due to the lower hanging cross members from the lift.

So running 35's on a 3" lift is optimal for gaining the most ground clearance.

Plus IMO, first gens look very disproportionate if lifted more than 3".
