And there's what is proving to be the problem. I'm having a real hard time with these prices. Every time I make a decision I get to the point of buying and I think to myself, "I'm paying how much for a vehicle this old? And didn't cost much more brand new."

That's a horrible idea. What time?
There's a tricked out 21 Pro for sale on market place. Suspension, on board air, bed rack and rtt, sure there's more. I think he had it listed for 53k.

I think once the new car supply chain catches up, things will even out. I'm not so sure the dealership model will go away, bit I'm sure it will change. Factories make too much money on the dealerships not moving vehicles. If I remember correctly, they buy the cars from the factory, but pay for them when they sell. The factory charges a fee, like rent, until they get paid.

The other reason I don't think it will go away is that we are not used to waiting for something we want. Most people who want a new anything don't want to wait.

Robs truck is a great deal and you know it’s been meticulously maintained. For the price of the fj you could get his and a supercharger!

The couple dealerships i talk to believe they will change the selling structure to a test drive facility with ordering kiosks. Covid has facilitated a lot trimming by large corporations. I think it’s going to be hard to make them go back.

It's kind of hard to tell. Staff shortages are forcing some changes. I imagine smaller, more rural dealerships would benefit more from this move, but I'm not sure that more suburban or city dealerships would. Inventory cost and insurances may also help drive this, but it's going to be hard to convince the US consumer that waiting six months is a good thing. They would almost have to have a regional inventory to speed things up for standard package vehicles. Add in some buyers remorse, and I just don't know. The Amazon model just doesn't fit every industry.

Related note, McDonalds rolled out the self ordering kiosk with the aim of getting rid of the lobby order taker altogether. Some places have removed them as people just don't want to use them.

    Time will tell.

Have anyone shipped a motorcycle or vehicle? Or have a recommendation of a company to use?

Picked up some new stuff at the ol' Harbor Freight, so my old box is up for grabs. Mine is an older version, but looks 99% like those links. 100% functional, I'll clean it up a little. Some of the liners are slightly gross, but nothing major. I can assist with delivery. A note: My replacements are ready to be picked-up, but I may not accept one portion because there's minimal shipping damage. So it could be a week or two before my old one is ready to go. So $350 sound reasonable?

I think the USPS is part of Amazon's delivery problem.

I think usps is the problem. And for some reason they call it smart post.

Thank goodness all Amazon packages that come here come through UPS.

Although they always deliver right at 8pm or close to end of their deliver day, so I have to wait all day :(

We get all three here. It seems that the Front Royal post office is a black hole of Amazon shipping. And yes, they are getting later. And we have a DC 15 miles from us.
