They wise up in April and November, just like the ducks and geese in September and throughout the fall!

Is it hard mounted? Wonder if you'd be able to extend the life by putting some rubber around where its held in

One interesting thing about aluminum, is that aluminum doesn't have an infinite fatigue life. Whereas some materials like steel will be able to endure an infinite amount of cycles at XYZ loading. So if its vibrating a lot, then aluminum will eventually crack and depending on conditions, it could be a looooong time or a short time. Some rubber or something may help to lessen the affects of vibration and make life longer

Yea this is tank #3 that has cracked at the welds. The other ones were different shapes and I thought the shorter seams of this cell would help. It does sit on a 1/2 rubber pad and has the same rubber on the mounting brackets so it’s isolated from the frame. I’m going to try a polymer cell, which means redesigning the whole setup again.

Made mention of Independence Day weekend plotting...also posed the question:
So on the next trail clearing weekend, are you driving the Ram or Taco????:D

Now I'm seeing the tandem trailer towing appeal like I saw out in Utah!

Found the barge you read about a few weeks ago. It floated by our house and got hung up on an abandoned damn a mile or so downstream of us. We anchored the boat and floated to the damn, then realized we had to swim upstream to get back to the boat. It was only 30 yards or so but I didn't think at first we'd make it (including Bailey and his friend). Learned an important lesson about how freaking strong the river is when the water is high.20220529_154649.jpg 20220529_154644.jpg

I’d have to agree on this.. not sure what the compression rate is on valve springs (or something of the like) are. But 1 at each corner compressed some, and the nut locked down to the bolt so it doesn’t loosen might suffice. The only other thing I can think of is, mounting it to only one side of the frame so the torsional flex between the frame rails is removed.

It’s currently mounted on a 1/4” thick steel 2x4, so i don’t think the mounting platform is flexing. I think I’m going try this one https://www.jegs.com/i/RJS-Racing-Equipment/140/3924801/10002/-1

    Gotcha. Disregard my last.

Does you current cell have any kind of baffling in it? Just curious. if not, is the fuel itself sloshing around at weight and that is the possibility of the cracks. I dunno after that.
