A horn or kazoo, I like that idea.
You and me both! Glad it's a cause and effect situation that can be fixed.
Ditto!! I have to go to Johns Hopkins for the surgery since the rib is "deep" in there, so they'd rather have me in a hospital just in case there are any complications with other stuff near by (lungs, etc). I've got an appointment with the John's Hopkins doc scheduled July 27, so I'm guessing we'll schedule the surgery then. Hopefully it's sooner rather than later because I'm not supposed to lift my arm up at all (even when I dress) because the doc said yesterday when I was under he could see the vein is 100% closed off when my arm is over my head because of the rib.

I was asked to fix a couple dents on this “special” bmw. Supposedly it’s in the process of being resto-modded and expected to fetch around 100k. Upon first glance, I thought the vehicles body panels had yet to be “restored”. Nope, this was the finished product. The next time anyone second guesses their abilities when they are attempting something for the first time; just remember there are “professionals” out there that have no idea what they are doing.

The bars on my light should be consistent. A0756C15-9F95-463A-9016-090BB8F7664C.jpg

He should've said restoring to factory condition! I'm curious what dude thinks is going to get $100k.

I have no idea. I don’t know anything about old bmw’s. Supposedly it’s 1 of 200 made and “the steering wheel alone is worth 10k”

A googly search brings up a 1964-65, 1800 TI/SA. Supposedly only 200 made. But the body lines appear different.

    From the wiki:
    1500 (1962−64) 23,554
    1600 (1964−66) 9,728
    1800 (1963−72) 146,960
    1800 TI/SA (1964−65) 200
    2000 (1966−72) 143,464
    2000 C/CS (1965−69) 13,691

With the way in which he spoke, I never should have seen a final product as such. There were a lot of amateur mistakes in the body work for someone who has been building bmw’s for concourse and rich clients for decades. So who knows.

Right! I only brought any of it up cuz I’m pretty proud of you guys on here that have jumped in the deep end and have built some cool shit. A few who have learned so much in the past couple years after they never thought they could. Learning is always uncomfortable and there’s a lot of knowledge here. That means you guys are some tough MFers.

You and me both! I took a headliner down, disconnected the sunroof wiring harness, fixed the roof, put the headliner back up….

Sucks that you need another procedure, but glad they found the cause. Holler if you need something.

Can the Dana 44s in the rubicon really hold up on 37inch tires? Or should I stick with 35’s

I think you definitely could run 37’s. I think it would be advisable to regear and understand you will wear out drive line and steering components quicker. What kind of use does your jeep see?

California Rocks. Lol. My old Jeep I never had problems on 33’s. That was a big tire back then. I just might stick to 35’s to save components. Thanks!!

I am not a Jeep expert. And after four months of ownership, I don't want to be. I don't think the previous owner did much, if any, off-roading in this one and at 94k miles I have found that most everything steering and suspension is shot. And that was on 35s. I really don't see the point in anything bigger. We don't have rock crawling like the west coast, but I have yet to even scrape my skid plate. Only thing I've scraped are a component added by the lift kit I have. Oh. And a slight corner on my rear bumper.

This sounds exactly like something I would do. After reminding myself to do it. Probably even looking at it before lifting it up. Who am I kidding? I did pretty much this with the gas tank. Got it all back together by myself, got all the EVAP crap hooked back up and forgot the most important thing. The fuel pump plug. I tried and tried to do it with the tank up. I could feel the plug on the fuel pump, but I couldn't find the harness (which meant it was pinched somewhere). I didn't have to drop it all the way, but it was enough.
