I plan on displaying all I've learned from watching VDOT workers. I will stand there in my working outfit and watch the machines do all the work. I may have a beer and chainsaw in my hand to really make people think I'm working hard.

Can anyone identify the vehicle in the foreground? Probably a GM product. Date on the photo edge is correct.

    I would guess it’s a Chrystler product

Isn't. That's my parents with my older brother. They've never owned a Chrysler. He had an Impala SS at some point, but I don't think they ever came in a four door.

The body lines don’t seem right for gm. Chrystlers were straight and flat, gm usually put an arch at the start of the quarter panel and some sort of slope.

I actually do see what you're saying. If it is a Chrysler, it's weird. They stuck with GM for the most part.

    Found it. 1966 Mercury Montclair.

Odd. My dad never talked about that car.

Thanks Google Lens! Didn't think it'd find it by the profile. I'll be dipped.

Older fords tended to have a sloped back and wheel arches as well. Must be a model for the dignified non street racers

We had a 72 Impala growing up that was a 4 door, but it wasn't an SS. The thing was a tank. All 6 of us fit in there comfortably.

We had a white '73. I don't remember much about it other than climbing over the bench seats and sleeping in the rear package tray.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
The first car I bought was a 76 Chevy Caprice Classic. Big beast of a csr, and quick. My dad bought a slightly used 78 Mercury Grand Marquis as a car for the family and for to get us kids around in. It had a 400 (402, 6.6L) engine with a Holly 4 barrel. Even with half the neighborhood in it, that thing was a beast. If you can call a banana yellow car a beast.

Gwen's talking to her 90year old mom this morning. Her mom asked her to call later as she was too busy to talk this morning. Nice problem to have.

    She’s a beaut, Clark.

I had a slight issue with the interviewer as he would not shut up and let the interviewee get to speak much. Maybe I’m wrong, just how I heard it. Still, an awesome car.

    The joys of HEEP ownership.

Rear carpeting pulled.. slight water leak from the heavy downpour the other day. Decided to vacuum the dirt as well.
