What do you think of the car overall? Any other bits of euro character?

 

The German quirkiness aside, I'm loving it. It can be a decent highway bomber and then leave butterflies in your stomach. The last part is courtesy of the launch control. First time, I did it, I thought I was going to pee my pants. I wasn't expecting it.

There were some small things that bothered me, but they've been taken care of. I think the worst one was the auto stop/start function. It would reset everytime you turned the car off. I found a little plug and play module that automatically turned it off when you start the car. Problem solved. The other big one was how dirty the OEM pads were. Of course, like the windshield wipers, no one in the aftermarket makes replacement pads. I took a gamble on EBC reds. They're definitely much less dirty, but I'm not sure if it suits me yet.

While under the hood the other day I noticed that a lot of the cooling hoses were clamped using "permanent" clamps. I wonder if that means they're "lifetime?"

My engine cover is made of foam rubber or some such similar material.
