I was gonna come in here and do that whole "fuck it, I'll try anything once!" thing about Lion's Den but then I googled it.

After I remembered that it's also the name of a porn store and wiped my work computer's browser history real quick, I found this video:

So....yeah actually I think I'll just take pictures :anonymous:

That's exactly my thoughts as well. Not going to work out with a fresh one. It would have to be with a family member that's for sure.

between our group we go with we usually have at least 2 drive shafts, CV axles, ujoints, bearings, tie rods, etc. weve had to swap out parts, and its great when you have what you need when you need it :amen:

exactly right. I never take a trip out to the mountains without some tools, basic parts, jack, and some extra gas.

poor @Sandman614 broke 2 driveshafts in 2 weeks, 1 at AOP, and then one at URE the next weekend (@Acerwin broke his same weekend art URE). had a spare at AOP. easy swap. Andrew had a spare at URE. then Tim made a second driveshaft out of the 2 broke ones. luckily they broke in different places.

ouch, that must have been bad. Good idea about building up some drive shaft parts. I've got spare u joints but not the actual shaft. Seem pretty costly so I'd have to wait until I can find some broken ones or just stumble across a junkyard one. Does anyone know if the 2nd gen would fit the 3rd? Haven't looked into that yet. Been considering going out to URE myself for a while now. I used to live in Raleigh which isn't too far from URE, but I'm a little further away now. Just gotta find a good weekend to go.

URE is fun, holler when you want to go. theres a group of us that go as much as we can. was out there last weekend with my Son. ran a few trails, hit the gun range, all in all a very fun day.

IDK about 2nd gen / 3rd gen driveshaft compatibility. I would think they are similar / same, but I dont know for certain.

Keep an eye on junkyards for driveshafts. 200 / 300 should be the price for a good used one.

will do. I've never been plus I'm still rolling stock until I wear out some of these parts so I'd have to go on the easy baby trails. I'll have to check out car-part and see what they have available. I'm sure 3rd gen stuff will be popping up more before too long.

Come on down. another group going out Sunday. The only reason I broke the 2nd driveshaft is simply because it was already weakened from being in a wreck or dropped, it came from a Junkyard.

that would make sense. Would love to come down sometime and hang out and meet some new peeps. Started talking to the wife last night about wanting to move back somewhere once the kid gets a little older. We moved back home to be closer to the family, but once he gets a little older, we may move back somewhere else, maybe Raleigh don't know yet. Didn't mean to derail this thread some. Hard to really get out and enjoy myself right now. Work about 55 hours a week. Dropping the transmission fluid today, or tomorrow, to fill back up with some redline MT fluid. Hoping it gives some smoother shifting afterwards.

Im happy it sounds like we'll have some more third gens on this trip. With a group this big I assume we'll be breaking up into groups and having the closer-to-stock trucks go on the easier side of moderate trails. I'm sure there will be alot of fun for everyone.

Mine might be completely stock still at this point. I'm not sure if I will have a lift for it yet or not.

Me and @brodgers are going. We can all give those stock trails all they can take and then some!!!! LOL might even venture on to a moderate trail. I've done some at AOP. It was easier than some if the easy trails I did last time I was at AOP. They change constantly though. Rain erosion and vehicles driving through change things daily.

If 75% of those listed make it, we'll still have one hell of a crowd.

There is a group planning on running black/red trails. (Extreme)

There wil undoubtedly be a group staying on the green trails. (Easy)

I'm working on a route that will be 50% green, 30% blue, and 20% red. This will cover the perimeter of the park, hopefully the longest possible route in the 3 years we've done this meet
