    Try again....a couple people have said they had to try 4 or 5 tmes. Comms in that area is still not far removed from string and 2 dixie cups.

    I have a handheld one. I can let u use if u want? I don't know how it works with the rubber antenna. I have it hooked to a magnet roof top. But it has a rubber duck antenna. U r more than welcome to use it.

    Just for trail use, the "$45 Cobra" UDLX series radios with a mag mount antenna will do the trick.

    We travel a lot, and get good use on the interstate. I have a radio that's around $150 and the "peaked & tuned" to get it to 28 watts. Makes for a really good radio at a decent price. Antenna and coax (on mine) another $65.

    Yep. Channel 10, jump to 12 if that gets chatty. We had a group of talkative locals on 10 last year.

    You don't have to install a mobile radio. That's the only advantage I can think of.

    Most of us will be breaking camp and heading home by lunch time Sunday at the latest. I'm sure a few will stay around until later in the day, but I cannot say specifically who, or for how long. Most of us will have been there since early Friday, and will most likely be ready to head home by Sunday morning.

    There will be a more thought out schedule of events as we get closer to the actual dates.
