I'm still baffled how Everett and me got mystery dents in our rockers at Harlan. He had sliders and I did not, yet.

Also, because of approach angle, tire size, and width of vehicle, the Jeeps were able to climb that tall and long rock on driver side. But, and you can see what Josh did, he got sideways a bit, so did I. Then you're stuck.
There's also a rock face right beside ya on passenger side. I think a lot of the reason is fear of going passenger and then dropping off your line and into that big rock on driver side. It would surely change a persons paint job and create a need for glass, potentially.

Us 3 got lucky/half ass know what were doing. Learn something new every time wheeling and I LOVE IT!.

A massive rock face. You're in-between a boulder and a rock wall that goes straight up

This entire area circled here looks like enough room to give enough room to stay away from that rock. Since I've not seen it in person that is why I'm asking. All videos & pictures make it look like you have an entire vehicle width worth of space to the passenger side.

It's more narrow than it appears, and that slope is steep, and loose dirt/leaves. You watch our videos in my link and you'll see. Videos of the 3 of us, each one does something different.

I'm still not sure when i'll get there. 7+ hour drive means a lot of chances for me to get distracted and stop. Hate long drives.

I'm heading out Wednesday afternoon so I'll probably camp close by or maybe just head straight to where we camped last year on Thursday night. So i should be able to meet anytime on Friday.

...and trail damage is just part of the fun! At least I have a CB this year which would have allowed me to escape last years trip with no damage but pin striping.

Sounds good, I'll post up an ETA once I get on the road. You still have the same phone number you had last year? I have that saved in my phone still just in case.

I don't think I ever fully committed to going, so I'm not sure I'm in the count of 12. Now that I've seen fincastle I'm second guessing my thoughts on driving. Lol.

The people that are tagged on the OP is what i'm counting. You don't have to go up anything you don't want to .The group is pretty good about doing whatever is best for the group and not trying to make anyone feel too pressured. We're also really good about leaving no one stranded. Heck, I put a gash in my tire on the trail in April and didn't even have to change my own tire after everyone hopped in to give a hand! I think you'd have a blast if you came out. Ride with someone if you feel like you're not capable. Love meeting new people on the forum, hope you decide to make it out and give her a try!

I am seriously tempted to stay at Dale Hollow Dam in TN on Thur & Fri to fish. Then find you guys around lunch Saturday.
Minimal wheeling for minimal risk of damage plus still get a night of campsite shenanigans out of you all.

(and drop off parts to get paid by some of you :fistbump:)

We'll stack rocks and downed trees til a stock truck can make it. Again, not everywhere is like that Fincastle vid, but this is a somewhat challenging place to wheel.

Get on the Tubes and search for "Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway" or "Slade" or "Red River Gorge". Varying levels of trails. Things we would like to try, but know better. Maybe :D

True. I can potentially turn around and loop around if needed. Riding with someone is also a good option. I believe I'd be able to make it there Thursday Morning. Just let me know when you're meeting.
