That can get surprisingly low, given it's behind your rear wheel as you climb out of things that can get submerged due to the angles changing. Over the summer climbing out of Spaas creek, I think I had water mid way up my tailgate.

 

So does that mean your suspension will get here in time?

 

Same. Bit it's more about being submerged whilst stuck. Diffs are pretty impervious to splashing and quick-in-out submersion. The problem comes when you get stuck and the axle cools causing negative pressure inside to pull water/mud into your seals, bearings, etc..

I’ve got a loop or two in mine so hopefully if I get to a steep exit out of water and the diff is clear but the tail dunks into the water it will catch the water and not allow it to make it to the diff.

 

I remember is talking about this now

@JohnnyRed you need a DYF diff breather mod. You'll never be the same after I get a hold of that rear end.

 

Yeah I do. I keep meaning to do it but then keep forgetting.
I also have a 2wd low wiring harness to install but I doubt that happens between now and Saturday morning.
